To ensure optimum performance andmaintain the quality built into your vehi-cle’s emission control systems, Scionrecommends the use of Scion AuthorizedParts when servicing or repairing the sys-tems.

Warranty coverage is not dependent upon the use of any particular brand ofreplace ment parts, and you may elect touse non-Scion Authorized Parts for main-tenance and repairs. However, use ofreplacement parts that are not equiva lentin quality to Scion Authorized Parts mayimpair the effectiveness of the emissioncontrol systems.

If you use replacement parts that havemaintenance or replacement schedulesdifferent from those of Scion AuthorizedParts, you must follow the maintenanceand replacement schedules for the partsyou are using. In addition, you shouldensure that such parts are warranted bytheir manufacturers to be equivalent toScion Authorized Parts.

If your vehicle fails a smog-check test, you may make a claim under the EmissionPerformance Warranty. To do so, take your vehicle to an Authorized ServicingDealership and present a copy of thesmog-check test report. Also, take yourmaintenance records in case they areneeded.

If your claim qualifies for coverage, thedealership will repair your vehicle within30 days (unless a shorter period is re -quired by law). If your claim is denied,Scion will notify you in writing of the rea-son within the same period. If we fail to doso, we will repair your vehicle free ofcharge. The only exceptions allowed arewhen you request or agree to a delay, orwhen a delay is caused by factors beyondthe control of Scion or the dealership.

You are responsible for ensuring that yourScion is operated and maintained accord-ing to the instructions in the Owner’sManual and the Scheduled MaintenanceGuide.

You should keep detailed records of vehiclemaintenance, since under some circum-stances they may be required for warrantycoverage. These records should includedate of service, mileage at time of serviceand a description of service performedand/or parts installed. For your conve-nience, a maintenance log is included inthe Scheduled Maintenance Guide. If yousell your vehicle, you should give yourmaintenance records to the new owner.

Scion will not deny a warranty claim solelybecause you do not have records to showthat you maintained your vehicle. How ever, damage or failures caused by impropermaintenance or lack of maintenance arenot covered under warranty.

You can be confident you’re getting thebest possible service for your vehicle whenyou take it to an Authorized ServicingDealer ship. Plus, an Authorized ServicingDealership will always use Scion Author -ized Parts designed specifically for yourvehicle.
