TB Notification Module – Nikshay: User Manual In order to ensure proper TB Diagnosis and case management, reduce TB Transmission and address the problem of emergence and spread of Drug-Resistant TB, it is essential to have complete information of all TB Cases. In this regard, Government Order No Z-28015/2/2012-TB dated 7 th May 2012 was issued to Principal Secretaries, Health of all States/UTs, all Director, Health Services of all States/UTs and all State TB Officers of all States / UTs with a request to bring it to the notice of all concerned for compliance in their respective States/UTs. Based on above communication sent by Central TB Division (CTD) and NIC has developed TB Notification module, which has 2 level processes: Process-1: Health Establishment Registration – All Public and Private Health Establishments either diagnosing or treating TB patients need to be registered and a Registration Number will be generated by the computer. Process-1 has been allowed at DTO level only. It is essential to associate all such Health Establishment with the Tuberculosis Unit for easy monitoring. Process-2: Once Health Establishment is registered, then all the patients either being diagnosed (by laboratories) or being treated (by Hospitals/Private Practitioners) will be entered into the software. There are some common fields for Laboratories and Hospitals/Practitioners and some different fields for each of them and they will be displayed depending upon the type one chooses. This facility has been given at DTO as well as TBU level. [Screen-I] For DTO Login, a new option, TB Notification has been given, which has 2 sub-options as given in the Screen-I.

TB Notification Module – Nikshay: User Manual

In order to ensure proper TB Diagnosis and case management, reduce TB Transmission and address

the problem of emergence and spread of Drug-Resistant TB, it is essential to have complete

information of all TB Cases. In this regard, Government Order No Z-28015/2/2012-TB dated 7th May

Screen-II

On pressing Health Establishment Registration, form as given at Screen-II will appear, having

following fields:

# Field Description

1 Type of Health Establishment It has 3 options: Laboratory Private Practitioner / clinic etc.(Single) Hospital/Clinic/Nursing Home (multi)

User need to choose the relevant type.

2 Name of Health Establishment It is mandatory to give name of the Health Establishment.

3 MCI/Hospital Registration Number

4 Name of Contact Person

5 Telephone Number with STD Code

6 Mobile Number

7 Complete Address

8 Pin Code Number

9 Valid email ID

10 State State Name will be displayed depending upon the login.

11 District District Name will be displayed depending upon the login.

12 Tuberculosis Unit All the TB Units in the displayed district will be given in the drop down and user need to choose the relevant TB Unit.

13 Save Health Facility Registration Pressing on this button will save data and will display the Health Facility Registration Number for future use.

Entering the patient details, this has been facilitated at DTO and TB Unit level. At DTO level, on

pressing the TB Patient Details, either Screen-III or Screen-IV will appear, depending upon the type

of Health Facility user chooses, which has following fields:

# Field Description

1 TB Unit At DTO level User need to select the relevant TB Unit where as at TB Unit level, it will be displayed and no selection is permitted.

2 Health Establishment Name Depending upon the selected TB Unit, all the registered Health establishments will be displayed and user needs to select one. In case no Health Establishment has been registered in that TB Unit then data entry of patient will not be facilitated.

3 Name of TB Patient

4 Age

5 Gender

6 Identity Proof User needs to choose relevant identity proof.

7 Identity Number

8 Residential Address

9 Land Line Number

10 Mobile Number State Name will be displayed depending upon the login.

In case Report is from Hospital/Nursing Home or Private Practitioner

11 Date of TB Diagnosis

12 Date of Treatment Started

13 Type User need to choose one

14 Basis of Diagnosis User need to choose one

15 Drug Susceptibility User need to choose one

16 Treatment Initiated User need to choose one

17 Specimen Collection Date

18 Result Report Date

19 Type of Report User need to choose one

20 RiF (Susceptible or Resistant) User need to choose one

28 Save Pressing this button will save the patient details and number will be generated, which is serialized within Health Establishment Number.

Apart from TB Notification, STO and DTO Users have been facilitate to generate DMC/PHI Entry

Status and TB Patients Registration Entry Status Reports

At STO level, it will be district wise where as at DTO Level, it will be Tuberculosis Unit wise count of

the entry status. Sample screens in this regard are attached at Screen-V.

Important instructions:

1. All Health facilities (public / private sector) will need to be registered

under this module as per instructions above.

2. For public sector facilities, all the DMCs & C&DST laboratories under

RNTCP need to be registered as laboratories. And all smear positive /

bacteriologically positive TB cases on examination in DMCs / C&DST

laboratories will need to be entered in this module.

3. Also public sector health facilities where smear negative and extra-

pulmonary patients are diagnosed/treated and referred/transferred

(e.g. medical colleges) should be registered as Hospitals (multi) and

cases referred out should be registered under notification.

4. All cases diagnosed / treated since 7th May 2012 may be notified.
