Special Thanks:Thank you for being a part of Champs Booster Club! The idea for the adults-only ‘Comedy Night’ was borne out of the fact, that EVERYONE NEEDS A LAUGH. Due to budget cuts and lay-offs, our students, parents and faculty are suffering. I wanted the Booster Club to join forces with the community and provide an evening filled with laughter. The Booster Club is dedicated to fostering growth and enriching the relationship between parents, teachers and students. We wanted to help raise money for our school. The idea of a comedy night grew organically from a random thought to a flood of interested and talented comedians in our community. This event is nothing short of a miracle. We look forward to building and expanding our supportive, artistic, and charitable community. ENJOY!– LaTanya Montgomery

ANT KALLONIATIS Funny, irreverent, controversial, and
always entertaining, ANT®(spelled in all caps and a registered
trademark) has made his mark on the comedy hill becoming one of
the most sought after comedians in the nation.
A regular guest on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and The Howard
Stern Show, ANT is the only contestant to leverage the exposure and
momentum from his appearances on NBC's Last Comic Standing and
move into other major television projects. First becoming the host of
VH1's smash hit Celebrity Fit Club (6 seasons) then starring in "But
Can They Sing" , followed by a star turn in "Celebracadabra", and then
his own series that bears his name,The U.S of ANT.
ANT® takes chances. In 2008, he ventured out of his comfort zone,
appearing in the VH1 series,"Celebracadbra" (magic with the stars). A
terrible fear of clowns and unfortunate skill with magic, brought
viewers one of televisions funniest moments. But it took a group of
first graders to bring him down. Literally. (ANT still insists they started
it.)Soon after he released his second album - a live DVD concert film
called, "ANT: America's Ready"(his first album was the comedy CD
"Follow my ass!" from Comedy Central Records).
More recently, he can be seen guest starring on the ABC hit series,
"The Middle" with the hilarious Patricia Heaton, on the TV Guide
Channel's Celebrity Feuds , and in his daily video blog, "ANT rANT"
which has taken the web by storm generating hundreds of thousands
of views and ranking in the top 100,000* websites in the nation (there
are over 87 million). ANT's rANT has entertained millions.

TRACIE WALKER is the kind of female comic we really enjoy. She is smart and unapologetic with just a little bit of an edge. She's also the kind of comic who doesn't walk away from playing a room because it is difficult; she embraces the challenge and does well even with the deck stacked against her. She is described as empowering and inspirational and funny for keeping it real sharing her life experiences. A native of Georgia, Tracie originally performed in the gospel comedy "On The Way To Jesus" at the New Life Women's Conference in Atlanta. Later she was nominated Best Female Comedian at the Atlanta Comedy Awards and hasn't looked back. Competes in several comedy contest and she made her film debut at the Montreal Comedy Festival in the independent film, “Open Mic”. Tracie performed her fabulous one-woman show, “Tracie Walker…Just Talking”, at the L.A. Connection Theater in Sherman Oaks as well as the famous Knitting Factory in Hollywood.
MONICA PIPER is an Emmy Award-winning
comedy writer and stand up comic. She has written
for sit-coms Roseanne, Mad About You and
Veronica’s Closet, and was the head writer of the #1
children’s animated series Rugrats.
She starred in her own Showtime Network comedy
special, “No, Monica, … Just You” and was nominated
by the American Comedy Awards as one of the top
five female comedians in the country. Monica is an
artist-in-residence with The Jewish Women’s Theatre.
DR. JOHN BIROC A native of New Jersey and New York, John came to
California as an actor and was one of the stars of the television series Convoy with John
Gavin after a brief career with the Chicago Cubs baseball organization. After appearing
in many commercials, movies, and TV shows, John finished a Masters Degree in Art at
CSUN and was teaching theatre at Van Nuys High School when asked to join the faculty
of the Theatre Department at his alma mater. There he taught acting, directing,
methods classes and the application of drama to education. Most of his research
involved the relationships ensemble theatre casts form during production, which led
him into the field of psychology.
John was a guest at the University of Durham, England, were he lectured and worked
with some of the leading British professors in drama therapy and psychodrama in
metal hospitals in Northern England.
He then started a Ph.D. program at USC, finished another Masters in Science along the
way, and went on to complete his Doctorate in Educational Psychology.
Upon leaving CSUN to pursue therapy at many of the mental hospitals in Southern
California, John was also sought as a motivational speaker for such corporations as
NBC, Sebastian International, Paul Mitchell Systems (pretty cool for a guy with no hair,
huh?), Cushman and Wakefield, and many others. He has been a trainer with the
AVERT project to reduce violence in schools through empathy.
He also taught psychodrama at the Graduate School of Social Welfare at UCLA, the
Graduate School and Undergraduate School of Psychology at Antioch University and
the Department of Psychology at Pierce College.
Until becoming the principal at CHAMPS High School of the Arts, John maintained a
private therapy practice in Encino. Eventually, his private practice involved working
with musical artists to increase communication and creativity.
He still doesn’t know what he’s going to do when he grows up.
BETSY SALKIND The Boston Globe said, "there are
countless ways to make someone laugh, and Betsy
Salkind knows most of them. Want sarcastic wit?
Political humor? Or maybe just a good animal
mime? Salkind can pull all that off and more.” Best
known as 'Squirrel Lady,' Betsy has appeared on
"Girls Night Out," "Last Comic Standing," "The
Tonight Show with Jay Leno," and most recently
"Fierce Funny Women" on SHOWTIME.
She was a staffwriter for SATURDAY NIGHT SPECIAL
and ROSEANNE, and is author of "More Than Once
Upon A Time" and "Betsy's Sunday School Bible
Classics," which was a 2010 Award Finalist for
humor, USA Book Awards, and makes a great
holiday gift. Both books were just released in special
extended versions on itunes and are must haves for
your ipad collection. www.BetsySalkind.com.
MIKE BRENNAN is probably best known as an
actor with roles on shows like Saving Grace, 24,
Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and The Drew
Carey Show. A Second City alum, Rick has created
a number of shows: John, Paul, Sartre and Ringo,
Catch 27 and one-man show, Pigboy, which was
chosen by HBO for the Aspen Comedy Festival.
Rick and wife, Laura (also of Second City), have
also collaborated on a CD of stories, Slice of Pie,
based on Rick’s childhood in rural central Illinois.
JENNIFER VALLY began her show business career at
the age of 11 months when she was plucked off the
streets to be a ‘Gerber Baby.’ She discovered the
harsh realities of show business when she was
replaced one month later for being “too old.” Since
then Jennifer has worked as an actress, performance
artist, stand-up, celebrity interviewer and TV comedy
writer/producer. She’s written and produced hundreds
of hours of television including shows for Oxygen, Fox,
Spike, Fox Reality, Lifetime, NBC, CBS, EPIX, Yahoo and
the TV Guide Channel. Jennifer is also featured in the
book She’s So Funny, a collection of jokes by female
comics. She received a grant from the NEA for her
original one-act play Barbie and Beyond: Thirty Years
of Terror as part of the National Women’s Theater
Festival. But Jennifer’s proudest achievement is that of
an ex-CHAMPS parent whose daughter graduated with
honors.
BRIAN MONARCH Buh-Rian (As the valley girls call
him) has been heating up the LA comedy scene for years. He
plays all of the biggest stages in Hollywood. He's worked
with such greats as Margaret Cho, Louis CK, Chris D'Elia,
Bryan Callen, Iliza Shlesinger, Ahmed Ahmed, and Bobby Lee
to name a few. You can catch him on any given night at your
favorite comedy clubs around town. His funny point of view
is very amusing. Don’t miss him on a stage near you!
JON HARTMANN JAZZ TRIO BAND When Jon was 16, he thought the answer to the mystery of life was Miles Davis and Dave Brubeck. He would come home from school, listen to FM jazz, and try to play 12 bar blues changes. Jon was lucky enough to grow up in Los Angeles, to have the exposure to many styles, and be in the virtual center of the recording industry. Jon joined the Musician's Union when he was 18, and began playing on jingles, TV, film and publishing demos. Jon Hartmann has worked with Dee Dee Bridgewater, Cathy Segal-Garcia, Phil Chen, Blondie Chaplin, Sal Marquez, the Staple Singers, Steve Khan, Eartha Kitt, Barry Zweig, Herb Jeffries, Lanny Morgan, Oscar Brown Jr., Lola Falana, Morey Amsterdam, Jay Graydon, Jaye P. Morgan, Grant Geissman, Rusty Draper, Arthur Lyman, H. B. Barnum, Bobby Womack, Keisha Brown, the Platters, Ike & Tina Turner, and many others in 40+ years as a professional musician.
SCOTT BAILEY has been teaching English at CHAMPS for the past five years and, more recently, has been added to the staff of the Theater Department as well. In addition, he has performed in dozens of plays, most recently Henry V, Henry IV and Richard II with the Independent Shakespeare Company. If you are a parent of one of his students, let it be known that he does not hate your child, even though your child seems to be under the impression that he does. That's just the way he is.DEB WOOLFORD is best known to the Millikan community
as the head of the 6thgrade Environmental Science
Academy. She has appeared at the Improv on Melrose,
Smiles in the valley and the Federal Bar in North
Hollywood. She also has written comedy for the stage,"

"stand-up 5 days a week teaching 6thgraders!
She is a registered leader of the Jane Goodall Institute’s
Roots and Shoots program, certified by the N.A.S.A. Lunar
Sample Disk program and she resides in Studio City with
her dog. Her two lovely daughters are away at college. Oh,
and by the way, is she funny! Well, just wait and see!
