HOPE Club members: Our next meeting will be either this Thursday, October 26th, or Friday the 27th during Learning Opportunity. Please remember that we are collecting canned goods, peanut butter and other nonperishable items for the canned food drive. Please start bringing in a can or jar to help our planet Earth locally. You can drop the items off in Mrs. Farner’s room. Also remember, those who pay their dues will get their HOPE Club T-shirts first.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

The Central Florida Dreamplex is seeking current freshman, sophomore, and junior level high school students for its StarGazers volunteer program. The Dreamplex is a fitness and recreation center for children and adults with physical and/or intellectual disabilities. Only 15-20 volunteers will be

chosen to be StarGazers, and the program will span one year (January-December, 2018) and result in at least 100 community service hours for each participant. First aid, CPR, and other training will be provided at no cost. The ideal candidate will be an individual who loves to work with children and is interested in therapeutic services, special education, or other related fields as a career choice. Those chosen to be StarGazers will assist with Dreamplex sports and recreational programs, and will have the opportunity to shadow physical, speech, and occupational therapists. Completed applications may be submitted by email to [email protected] or dropped off at the Dreamplex, located in the Clermont Hillside Terrace complex (same building as Graffiti Junktion) Applications are due by November 6th.
