Tattoo Machine Troubleshooting#A132 Machine does not run

The Armature Baris jammed downand touching the front coil.

It cannot move up and down.

Good.At rest, teh armature bar is not touchingthe front coil. Room to go up and down.

Armature Bar Setting Troubleshooting Answer # A132

Problem Machine does not run.

Because Armature Bar is not in proper position. It is jammeddown on coils.

Check Armature Bar Spacing with machine off.1. The armature bar should be above the coils,and not touching the coils.2. Contact screw must be touching the front spring.

Why Space must be left between the armature barand the coils so that the armature bar cango up and down.

Cause The Contact Screw is turned too far down and pressing the entireArmature Bar Assembly down onto the coils. It cannot move up and down.

Remedy Unscrew (Back-Off) the Contact Screwto provide clearance.

No Good. The Contact Screw is not touchingthe Front Spring.

Good. The Contact Screw is touchingthe Front Spring.

Contact Screw Troubleshooting Answer # A133

Problem Machine does not run.

Because Contact Screw is not touching the front spring.

Check The contact screw must be touching the front spring.

Why Electricity will not flow unless a circuit is complete.

Cause The Contact Screw is turned too far up and is nottouchingthe front spring.

Remedy Turn the Contact Screw down until it touches the frontspring (or the contact point on the front spring).

Short Circuit Troubleshooting Answer # A134

Problem Armature bar sticks to coil whenfoot pedal is pressed.

Because The electrical circuit is shorted andthereforeconstantly on.

Check Solder lugs must not touch the frame.

Why Electricity will flow through any circuitthat is on.

Cause A solder lug is bent over and touchingthe frame creating a new pathfor the electricity.

Remedy Bend the solder lug out so that itno longer touches the frame.
