Mini Club Enerji

• Under this model, school students are encouraged to form their own ‘clubs’ with a unique name.

• These clubs undertake various activities like performing skits, street plays,

organising rallies and competitions in their school and vicinity to spread the word of energy conservation.

• Students are also encouraged to conduct mass sensitisation during festivals like Ganesh Utsav, Diwali, Durga Puja and others.

• The Club members become drivers of the programme in their area of influence,

with support from Club Enerji.• Club Enerji also helps them with an engagement calendar to sustain these

initiatives.

National Energy Savvy School competition (NESS)

• All the schools where Club Enerji is present are eligible to participate in NESS.• NESS evaluates schools on various resource conservation parameters like

waste management, water conservation, recycling etc.• Schools are also monitored on their energy consumption and reduction of

electricity bills.• Under the aegis of this six month activity, schools send a formal report to Club

Enerji for evaluation. The school which has shown considerable achievement on the above mentioned parameters are certified as Energy Savvy Schools.

“The campaign started by Tata Power for dealing with the energy crisis by conserving energy is commendable. The best part is that they have involved children for the good cause. The initial sensitisation, signature campaign and bringing down consumption of electricity; each and every bit of the campaign is a small step taken, to make a big difference.”

Mrs. Meenaambika Menon, Cambridge School (Noida)

We are thankful to Tata Power representatives for providing us with all the motivation and

support. Such programme’s help our students to take charge of issues which will affect the

world adversely. We are looking forward to more such programmes.

Rashi Gupta Ryan International, Noida

I conserve electricity by changing bulbs to CFL’s, by not switching on fans and tube lights

unnecessarily. I also used to switch off appliances from their main point.

• During the past 50 years Global Warming and Climate Change have become critical issues concerning the very survival of our planet. Global temperatures are rising because we are emitting 8.8 billion tonnes of greenhouse gases every year. Climate change is being predicted to adversely affect hundreds of millions of people through increased coastal flooding, reductions in water supplies, increased malnutrition and increased health impacts. Global warming, resource conservation, waste management, energy conservation, water management recycling and climate change are all interlinked.

 • We have introduced a new module on Resource conservation which lays emphasis on

saving fuel, water, paper apart from electricity that we have been propagating for last several years.

• In addition to this, we wish to add Preservation (‘Conservation of Moral Values’) through which Club Enerji would aim to inculcate civic responsibilities and leadership qualities in children to better manage their tomorrow with strong belief in values.

By empowering students to make a difference to their society and ecosystem, we believe we

are helping to create a better tomorrow!
