Alumni Speaks
The Masters in Globalisation and Labour equipped me with theoretical, analytical and empirical
understanding in economics and society and exposed me to the process of change in national and
global labour markets. The course enhanced my grasp on labour and economy both in its breadth
and depth spanning disciplinary boundaries in the context of changing times and fresh emerging
challenges. The sunny side of the course was getting in touch with students from different countries
and learning their country’s economy, labour laws, histories, policies and trade union movements.
The robust curriculum on research methodologies honed my analytical learning and research skills
that meliorated my insights and knowledge in labour economics which helped me greatly to pursue
my doctorate in development economics. The research and learning went beyond the classroom
to endeavour me first-hand experience in the field and community. The thought provoking
interactions with faculties and my classmates fostered my intellectual curiosity, independent thinking
and leadership abilities.
Mansi Awasti
PhD Scholar, TISS
This course helped me gain a stronghold on issues concerning labour and related aspects. A
course that is in tune with the current times and also futuristic in its scope. The teaching
pedagogy including the field work gives an edge over other regular courses on the subject
and increases the student's outlook making them prepared for the new challenges at work.
