DAY 1 THU 5 JAN HOME TO LAUNCESTON
Depart Sydney arrive Launceston early afternoon. We will travel to Panshangar Estate, an historic homestead with extensive gardens beautifully sited on the Macquarie River. Afternoon tea then a stroll through this lovely estate.Check in at Peppers Seaport, our home for the next three nights. Relax and unwind in this beautiful spot on the waterfront. Dinner tonight is included in a wonderful restaurant next to our hotel and on the riverfront.
DAY 2 FRI 6 JAN BRIDESTOWE LAVENDER FARM
It’s all about lavender today! Endless fields of lavender flowers will take your breath away. We’ll enjoy morning tea, learn about the distillation process, do some shopping and then lunch under the grand oak trees in view of all that blooms at Bridestowe Lavender Farm. There’s time for a walk in Launceston city park to admire the conservatory (and the monkeys) and a look at Cataract Gorge before we return to our hotel.
DAY 3 SAT 7 JANOLD WESLEYDALE
We are heading to Mole Creek this morning, but first a stop in Deloraine to see the famous Yarns Artwork in Silk.
We head to Old Wesleydale, a beautiful peaceful “English’ garden with hedges and stone walls giving it structure. The walled garden is new and beyond is a potting shed, picking garden and glasshouse. Don’t miss the bountiful potager and dovecote. It’s an Arcadian landscape with vistas through to the ranges.
We’ll enjoy lunch here before we travel to Hadspen to visit Entally House, the family home of former Tasmanian Premier, Thomas Reibey (His mother Mary Reibey is pictured on Australia’s $20 note). The Estate is grand, with magnificent gardens and a vineyard. A special dinner included tonight at iconic Stillwater restaurant.
DAY 4 SUN 8 JAN LAUNCESTON - HOME
We’ll visit the Sunday country market in Evandale this morning where there are lots of stalls and fantastic local produce. Then enjoy a garden tour, tasting & lunch at Gourmet Sauce who specialise in local fruit for jams and chutneys.
Transfer to the airport for our mid afternoon flight.
