THOUGHTS FROM THE PRESIDENT
Ahhh, the relaxing sounds of summer. Yes, it’s late summer as I write this and I’m really glad summer has come. Aren’t you? We can sleep late some mornings and have that extra cup of co#ee with the newspaper. I’m wireless at home so I can go out on the patio read the online newspaper and enjoy our garden and the sounds that come with it. The dogs running around in the yard, the bees buzzing around the chaste tree, the water trickling over the edge of the urn and then running down the hill into the pond below where the sound of the falls echoes back up to the patio where I sit. I relax and recharge here. Get my thoughts together about what I do and who I am and how I can be better. This is my personal way of recharging.
I also need to recharge professionally and our conferences are a great place to go and get recharged. Lynn Caruthers, our Past"President and Conference Programs Chair has done a great job of lining up speakers and presenters for us. Make sure you look through this newsletter to read about some of the who they have lined up for us. You will absolutely
love Michael Dahl! Michael, a very entertaining and charismatic speaker. He is also a writer for Stone Arch Books. I think you will enjoy what he will bring to us here in Tennessee. “Bad Kitty” author, Nick Bruel will be there and so will authors Alane Ferguson, Suzanne Supplee and Dianne de Las Casas. I look forward to hearing them and using them to recharge my batteries.
Don’t forget the Exhibitor’s Reception on Thursday night. This is a great opportunity to visit with each of our vendors in the Exhibit Hall and it really is a fun social event for us too. A chance to talk with our friends and colleagues across the state. Please try to stay through Saturday and finish up the conference with us. There are always some great sessions and speakers on Saturday morning.
Hope to see all of you in Murfreesboro September 24th.
