Front Cover

They’ve given the stereotypical headlines by saying can they save the world making the rock genre seem like the underdog and the only one who can save us and they let Green Day have it because they are a rebellious group meaning it would have a bigger impact on the reader

The front of Kerrang issues are always being made to look rebellious and like an outcast by making the main image with the band in it look rebellious wearing dark make up around there eyes to make them look creepier and dress them in dark clothes which people consider to be a very negative colour that adolescent teens wear. They also have them pulling very vague facial expressions so they seem distant from the reader.

They make their front cover as relatable to the reader as possible and they know that it is teenagers and young adults who are very impressionable to these kind of things so if draws them in. with all the dark colours it would attract depressed or angry teens because they relate to black in a way that makes them feel normal.

Rock is also aimed at the male sex from 14 to 23 which makes it a very masculine genre so it doesn’t appeal to females very much

The facial expression that the band members are giving are very goofy and gormless making them seem insane and loopy. It makes the reader feel uneasy and confused when looking at it because this controverts the genre of music they are in.

Contents Page In the main photo it shows

a member of the band blink 182 on stage playing guitar on stage in very tough rebellions cloths doing a knee slide on stage to get the crowd excited.

The page all together has got a rough look about it to relate to teens and young adults and then it’s got yellow on black which relates a warning or danger. It’s page is very cluttered making it seem exciting.

With knee slide teenagers can relate to it by mimicking it in front of their friends they relate to the stereotypical rock group in school.

The rock band blink 182 are more of the fun rock groups with their more humorous songs they will use that excitement and use it on stage while their live.

The facial expression

Double Page Spread Linkin Park are more of the casual looking than other looking rock groups making their image look a lot cleaner and relatable. The main image is a long shot the way the members are grouped makes them hostile and they are in a gang. Their shoulders are very high strung making them seem edgy and dangerous to walk up to. The clothes they are wearing are rebellious like they are a common street gang. The expression is quite distant and nonchalant. Giving the impression that they are easy going and relaxed, this contradicts the aggressive nature of rock.

The pull quote they have used from the article is a very strong quote making it have a big impact on the reader. This represents that the band wants to be original and new and not repeat them selves. It also seems like the band is getting frustrated by doing the same stuff over and over again so they feel like they want to take a different direction.
