Unit 57: Photography and Photographic Practise Project Proposal (P2, P3, M2, M3, D2, D3) Candidate name: Theme: Music Magazine Portrait Photo Shoot Predicted final outcome When I do my portrait shoot I will come out with 50 different portraits that I will later narrow down to a 10. These images will be mainly like band photos and people with musical instruments. The reason for this is because I really like images when they have an instrument with them. I will then edit these images to make the images look more professional. Reasons for selection of theme (including inspiration from the work of others) The reason I want to take band images or ones with instruments is because I am inspired by a photographer called Nick Pickles. He takes images of bands wiliest they are performing and images of them promoting there band e.g; band posters or cd covers. Another photographer would be Rebecca Randall she takes image that are still bands or artists but her artists are more modern such as snoop dog or Drake. I like her images because most of them are in black and white.

My final inspiration is Vanessa Jordan the reason for this is she takes images of allot of indie bands and artists. I like this because these types of images are the ones that I want to take.
The photo imaging equipment and medium that will be used and why
The camera I will be using is a Cannon7D with a 50mm 1.8 prime lens. This will make my portraits become the best quality they can be. I will also use a large tripod so that my images will be focused and not blurry.
Techniques that will be used and how they will help convey the visual message
The images I will be shooting will be of different people outside. The settings I will need to change will be the ISO, shutter speed and Aperture/ Depth of field. The reason for this is because I will be shooting during the day. However some of my settings will change depending on what the weather is like. Or whether I am inside or not.
Location of shootManchester town Centre
My images will be based on the music magazine Classic Rock.
The reason for this is that all the images in this are normally ones that are remembered through time and they became extremely popular.
