Production company logo

We created a logo for our company and we called it smiley inc. We created the company because it was ironic that we were creating a thriller film and we had it starting with a smiley face

What does a distributor do?

A distributor basically sends your film out into the world for the audience to watch. They decide where and when the film will show and they also promote the film. There are a number of steps that are followed in the process of distribution. Firstly the have to determine how many copies of the film to make. The film is then shown to potential buyers e.g. the cinema owners. The film is then then sent to the cinemas. The cinema then shows the movie and after people have seen it they will send it back to the distributors and payment is then agreed.

This shows how the distribution process works

Why you have chosen the distribution companies you have to release your film?

We have decided to use Momentum pictures to distribute our film.

We chose this company because they have distributed a lot of independent films, such as 2011’s “Troll Hunters” but they also have distributed bigger films such as “the Kings Speech” so that shows they are a successful company but they also do work with smaller film companies, so that shows me they have experience at doing this.
