What does a production company do?

A production company essentially assists to create films as well as help handle casting, budgeting and more. They are responsible for finding a director and the cast for the film. They are the ones who get the blame if any equipment is damaged or an actor/actress is injured.

Production company logos chosen, created and why?

The logo that we used for our production company we created ourselves seen below ‘Smiley Inc.’ We chose to make our production like this because of the irony of this being a thriller and the logo having a smile making it kind of menacing. When being produced there is evil laughter in the background as well to contribute to this. This fitted in with the genre very nicely and would suit a lot of thrillers.

What does a distributer do?

A distributor Is to send the film into the world ready to be watched in films. Its their decision where and when the film will be shown and also help promote the film.The steps needed in the process of distribution firstly by determining how many copies of the film to make. The film is then previews to people like cinema owners.

Momentum pictures is the product that I chose because they have done low budget films as well as help with higher end films. An example of this is when they presented the Kings speech.

How might your fil have been funded

To get funding for our film we would have to rely In terms of finance on production companies or Companies like Film 4 in order to help our film.
