Who are they? I will need to identify who my target audience is, and I

shall do this by researching their ages and races,

even though the music industry doesn’t target a

specific group of people. So my research will be non-

stereotypical and will be direct to people of all ages,

but will point out if there is a larger amount of people

at a certain age that like the music.

I have created a survey

on SurveyMonkey, and

I posted it on my

FaceBook page. On this

PowerPoint, I will be

analysing the results.

Age I have analysed from my Survey results

that the people that answered were from

the ages of 17 and over. Most of the

people that answered are 18.

added up to be an equal amount of

males and females (except for the

person that skipped this question. Who

does that?!)

How often they listen to music The vast majority of the people that answered my

survey listen to music every day. This could be on

the radio, their computer, iPod, etc.

How they listen to their

music A lot of people that answered listen to

music via their iPod. But three extra

answers told me that people listen to

music on

their

computer/

laptop/

Mac. This

could be

where

they

obtain it.

Do they listen to the radio?

The most answered was “Sometimes”, although

this question had a variety of different answers.

Only two people that answered never listen to the

radio.

What radio station?

A lot of people skipped this question, which must

mean that they are the ones that don’t listen to the

radio. A lot of people chose BBC Radio 1, and I

also had a

lot of

people

answer

the

“Other”

option.

Where they discover their music

The most popular answers were YouTube, Internet

and Friends. So this means that their friends find it

and decide to share it with others, passing it

around people so

more know about

it. This could make

them research it on

the internet, sites

like YouTube.

How they get the music A lot of people download their music, but an equal

amount of people get their music by buying/borrowing CD’s. A lot of people use iTunes as well, as this is a common usage of music for people, as the company Apple is used by a very large amount of people.

Favourite Genres

Two of the most popular genres picked from my

list were Rock and Pop. The least popular one

was Hardcore.

Go to Concerts/Music Festivals

My final question was if they went to concerts

and/or music festivals. An equal percentage of

them said that they do, either all the time or

sometimes. Only a few people said that they never

go to concerts or music festivals.
