Target Audience Profile My target audience would either be a male or female and aged between the 15 and 25. He or she is a well educated individual with both a degree, and acceptable results in either GCSE or A Level. They either work or take up a subject that allows them to engage with others and use their imagination. The older group of people may generate both a high income and high levels of job satisfaction whilst the lower age group may work part time to make some money which they spend days and nights out with friends and loved ones. They are also street smart, are passionate about having a good night and regularly watch movies. The target audience are a large group of people who are full of confidence and believe in their opinions and ideas; they are never afraid to speak their mind. He or she will have a great appetite when it comes to watching different genres of movies, and but preferably enjoy the thrill and adrenaline rush they receive from watching a horror film. They aren’t insecure and use movies as a way out of troublesome times and a sort of insulin shot that defeats the dreaded illness that is boredom and are dedicated film fans that regularly take trips to the cinema to watch the latest blockbusters. They enjoy and appreciate the films being made and enjoy reading and finding out about the actors that appear in them. Either still in compulsory education, doing degrees in university or a graduate they are clever, witty or charming. They are easily likeable and can make contributions to any given discussion. The target audience are comfortable financially and like to let loose whenever they have free money to spend. The target audience are conversationally and socially flexible and can therefore fit in at any style of social event or gathering. The target audience are also a huge part of modern society and use different types of digital devices to watch their films. The audience owns apple iPods, mobile phones or iPads and other tablets and may buy or rent movies to watch in the car or plane on long journeys. The target audience are confident, independent group of individuals that enjoy sharing the glorious music with their friends, families and lovers. Nevertheless, he or she does like to indulge occasionally and loves quiet nights out with friends or family, or lazy nights in where they can enjoy young adult programmes such as ‘A League of Their Own’, ‘Made in Chelsea’ and ‘Family Guy’.

When not at work or spending time with their friends, family, and partners of loved ones; the target audience enjoys a number of hobbies. They enjoy seeing the big lights in the city and being a part of civilisation, whilst the adult audience enjoys to be “doing it big” in the cities well known nightclubs, and enjoy the hustle and bustle or a busy, noisy bar; the teens prefer to spend their time over a friend’s house, either partying it up and

mischievously bending the rules or playing video games. They both, however, appreciate a good party with their friends and family. Fashion interests them. They like finding one-off pieces that reflect their style and individualism and really enjoy shopping, whether it’s to feed their aforementioned interest in fashion or to find things for their homes.

The target audience loves films and sees sitting down to a good film as something of an indulgence. A range of different films and film genres appeal to them, and really enjoy a film that has endless action, car chases, explosions and bloody violence. They although, preferably adore, clever, well-thought out narratives that provoke thought in their audience. Horror is a genre that appeals to them, and they are huge fans of the ‘splasher’ sub-genre, the gory, gruesome and twisted tales really appeals to them and they enjoy the suspense the films create. They find the spine-tingling chill elicited by these films quite addictive too, which leads them to them even more. Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street, Psycho, Friday the 13th, Hide and Seek and The Burning sit amongst their favourite slasher films.
