Target audience Generally the people who often tend to watch action films are active themselves and are thrill- seekers. They enjoy adrenaline and get a buzz from fast paced activities. Due to the fact that in some action films the stars appearance usually changes due to getting hurt or injured and sometimes aren't always bothered about their appearance. For this you could imply that the target audience are not necessarily well groomed and could be a little scruffy. However there is not a set class and status of audience who usually watch these types of films. The upper class audience are attracted to action films through the use of expensive and luxurious items such as cars and houses like those in the James Bond film's for example. It is not only men who enjoy action films. Many women enjoy watching action films due to the testosterone which comes with the male actors in the film. Usually the actors tend to be masculine and relatively good looking. They usually have scenes where the male character shows off his body to the viewers and in which attracts the female audience. Furthermore there is no real target audience age gap for action films. Generally most people who watch them are aged between 16 and 24 however there are many people older than this category that enjoy watching them. Groups of friends may go to see these types of films together as generally not many couples go to see these films on a date, they usually go to more romantic films. The characters in action films predominantly have scenes where they are dressed up in smart suits which usually end up with the suit getting ruined by the actor being called into action. Sometimes action films have side stories and can be quite intellectually challenging so sometimes the audience for these films enjoy the mental thinking and keeping up with the film whilst watching the film so you could say that the target audience enjoy riddles and solving problems. With action films I believe that the target audience ABC1 scale is not relevant. This is because there are people in the social grade A who are classed as upper middle class people who often tend to work in higher managerial and professional jobs who enjoy action films due to the upper class scenes of the films including the nice apartments and the luxurious cars but also people in B, C1 C2 and D who would all be interested for different reasons such as the adrenaline buzz from watching fast paced films which usually include fights scenes or chases. However at the opposite end of the target audience scale is the social grade E. these are the only audience which I believe would not be attracted and interested in action films. This is because there are often a lot of swearing and they are usually very fast paced and hard to understand at times. Therefore I don't believe that the pensioners that are classed as this category would enjoy these films. I have decided to choose this target audience as I believe these are the people who would be most likely to watch my film and therefore will generate the greatest amount of revenue from the sales of cinema tickets or purchasing the DVD. The certificate of my film will be aged 15. this is due to the fact that there will be strong violence and swearing at times. This won't affect my target audience too much as I have estimated that the target audience ranges from 16 years upwards so I do not believe that there will be many people under the age of 15 who would wish to watch the film anyway. Therefore I do not believe that my sales will be affected by this decision.

Target audience Generally the people who often tend to watch action films are active themselves and are thrill-

seekers. They enjoy adrenaline and get a buzz from fast paced activities. Due to the fact that in some action films the stars appearance usually changes due to getting hurt or injured and sometimes

aren't always bothered about their appearance. For this you could imply that the target audience are not necessarily well groomed and could be a little scruffy. However there is not a set class and status of audience who usually watch these types of films. The upper class audience are attracted to

action films through the use of expensive and luxurious items such as cars and houses like those in the James Bond film's for example.

It is not only men who enjoy action films. Many women enjoy watching action films due to the testosterone which comes with the male actors in the film. Usually the actors tend to be masculine

and relatively good looking. They usually have scenes where the male character shows off his body to the viewers and in which attracts the female audience.

Furthermore there is no real target audience age gap for action films. Generally most people who watch them are aged between 16 and 24 however there are many people older than this category

that enjoy watching them.

Groups of friends may go to see these types of films together as generally not many couples go to see these films on a date, they usually go to more romantic films.

The characters in action films predominantly have scenes where they are dressed up in smart suits which usually end up with the suit getting ruined by the actor being called into action.

Sometimes action films have side stories and can be quite intellectually challenging so sometimes the audience for these films enjoy the mental thinking and keeping up with the film whilst watching

the film so you could say that the target audience enjoy riddles and solving problems.

With action films I believe that the target audience ABC1 scale is not relevant. This is because there are people in the social grade A who are classed as upper middle class people who often tend to work in higher managerial and professional jobs who enjoy action films due to the upper class

scenes of the films including the nice apartments and the luxurious cars but also people in B, C1 C2 and D who would all be interested for different reasons such as the adrenaline buzz from watching

fast paced films which usually include fights scenes or chases. However at the opposite end of the target audience scale is the social grade E. these are the only

audience which I believe would not be attracted and interested in action films. This is because there are often a lot of swearing and they are usually very fast paced and hard to understand at times.

Therefore I don't believe that the pensioners that are classed as this category would enjoy these films.

I have decided to choose this target audience as I believe these are the people who would be most likely to watch my film and therefore will generate the greatest amount of revenue from the sales of

cinema tickets or purchasing the DVD. The certificate of my film will be aged 15. this is due to the fact that there will be strong violence

and swearing at times. This won't affect my target audience too much as I have estimated that the target audience ranges from 16 years upwards so I do not believe that there will be many people

I have created these avatars on the website: http://www.amctv.com/shows/mad-men/mad-men-yourself. Like I have said previously I believe that the target audience for action films is relatively

wide but I have decided to choose upper/middle class as I believe these will edge out the other categories for the most people watching it. I feel that the masculine males who have that

stereotypical 'rugged' look which the action stars tend to have could relate to the action stars themselves would be interested and I have shown that they are upper/middle class people with the use of smart clothes/suits. I have also chosen this avatar to represent the women would would watch

my film. I believe that they would also be upper/middle class and I could imagine them to be attractive, much like those in the films.
