Tapis is one of the woven fabric in Indonesia traditionally made by the people of Lampung , a province in Indonesia . The number of woven fabric in Indonesia can not be calculated because there were so many . Almost in every province has a woven fabric made by indigenous communities who are usually drawn motifs depicting the state of nature , belief , or culture in the area The characteristic of tih fabric is the embroidery technique that is added to the woven fabrics of cotton yarn , with the use of a toothpick , gold, and silver that forms a natural motifs , flora or fauna .Tapis is used as a female garment in the form of Sarung . Just like other woven fabrics that have a particular meaning in the cloth , Tapis was a symbol of the natural alignment of human life and the Creator . Therefore Tapis fabric made through certain stages that lead to perfection .
