Day-to-day bank transactions are being replaced by online services, while physical bank locations focus on providing advice for more complex procedures such as mortgages and investments. Tangerine pop-up locations are the leading edge of this trend, offering an innovative approach to banking which adapts to the reality that more and more people are banking online. ACCESSIBLE: Tangerine is first and foremost an online banking service. While this makes the bank accessible to anyone with a computer or mobile device, Tangerine understands that a physical location will benefit those potential clients who require assistance setting up an account. The proposed pop-up unit will include barrier-free access at both entrances, a fully functioning universal washroom, and will be staffed with advisors to provide information on the bank’s products. MOBILE: The Tangerine pop-up building is constructed from a modified shipping container, retrofitted to provide a sleek exterior and fully furnished interior. It will be manufactured off-site and shipped to the Kildonan Place parking lot where it will be quickly up and running. Tangerine has an agreement with the Shopping Centre to keep the unit in place until the end of 2016.
