San Francisco Executives Fix Santa Rosa School by "Storm" Ejecutivos de San Francisco Arreglan Escuela de Santa Rosa • By Juanita Hayman • Photos by Emma Roll

S anta Rosa, Guanacaste- Forty bay area executives from the high-tech company Fusion Storm, along with their respective families, took the local e lementary schoo l in Santa Rosa by storm as they rolled up the ir sleeves to complete ly makeover the school with new paint, needed repairs, and landscaping. On top of all of that, Fusion Storm created a computer lab with laptop and installed proper security measures for the lab.

The project of fixing the school was a result of a vision and miss ion by Fabrice Venegas, former owner of the Shangri Lounge, with the he lp of his friend Ted Horwitz from Off Road Adventures, who coordinated Fusion Storm's vacation to Tamarindo.

Venegas mission to he lp restore and improve the Santa Rosa school, which is considered as a historical building and cultural gem, began when he first started volunteering for CEPIA. The more he saw, the more he wanted to take matters into hi s own hands and put a ll of hi s efforts, through hi s former business, to raise the funds needed to improve the school. Through Vanegas' vision and Horowitz helpfulness, Fusion Storm's generous way of giving back to the ir vacation destination , was a true success and the smiles on the students and teachers faces proved it.

El grupo se enroll6 las mangas y transformaron Ia escuela por completo con pintura nueva. reparaciones y jardinerfa. Ademas. Fusion Storm cre6 un laboratorio de c6mputo con computadores portatiles e instalaron todas las medidas de seguridad necesarias.

El proyecto de arreglar Ia escuela result6 de Ia vision y misi6n de Fabrice Venegas, antiguo dueiio de Shangri Lounge, y de Ia ayuda de su amigo Ted Horwitz de Off Road Adventures. quien coordin6 las vacaciones del grupo Fusion Storm en Tamarindo.

La idea de Venegas de ayudar a restaurar y mejorar Ia escuela de Santa Rosa. considerada edificio hist6rico y gema cultural , empez6 junto con su voluntariado en CEPIA. Entre mas vefa, mas querfa to mar cartas en e l as unto y dar todo de sf para recauda r el dinero necesario para mejorar Ia escue la: lo logr6 a traves de su antiguo negoc io. Gracias a Ia vis ion de Venegas y Ia ay uda de Horowitz, Ia manera generosa en Ia que Fusion Storm clio algo de ellos a su clestino turfstico hi zo posible que todo fuera un exito. Las sonrisas de los estucliantes y maestros son prueba de ello. •
