LICENSED INDICATIONS

Clopidogrel is indicated for the prevention of atherothrombotic events in:

75 MG ONCE A DAY 

´ Patients suffering from:

« myocardial infarction (from a few days until less than 35 days)

«

ischaemic stroke (from 7 days until less than 6 months)« established peripheral arterial disease

´ Patients suffering from acute coronary syndrome:

« Non-ST segment elevation acute coronary syndrome* (unstable angina or non-Q-wavemyocardial infarction), including patients undergoing a stent placement following percutaneouscoronary intervention, in combination with aspirin

« ST segment elevation acute myocardial infarction, in combination with aspirin in medicallytreated patients eligible for thrombolytic therapy.

The term acute coronary syndrome (ACS) is used to refer to any group of clinical symptoms associated with acute myocardial ischaemia. Itencompasses a spectrum of disorders including acute myocardial infarction (MI) and unstable angina pectoris. ACS is usually the result of an acute or subacute primary reduction of myocardial oxygen supply provoked by disruption of an atherosclerotic plaque associated with

inflammation, thrombosis, vasoconstriction and microembolisation.

NB. It is not licensed for occlusive vascular events associated with atrial fibrillation.
