PÖFF was founded in 1997 by Mrs. TIINA LOKK, who is the Festival Director and Art Director since. In 2014 the festival is organised for 18th time.

PÖFF MISSION: ! To introduce WORLD BEST CINEMA to Estonian and international

guests.

! To promote and develop cinema as FIELD OF CULTURE and quality entertainment.

! To NETWORK local and international film and cinema professionals

! To PROMOTE ESTONIAN FILM and film makers and professional services and LOCATIONS internationally

! PÖFF is the BIGGEST ANNUAL CULTURE EVENT in Estonia.

! PÖFF belongs officially to the WORLD TOP 50 among other 4000 film festivals organised in the world each year (rated by: FIAPF- International Federation of Film Producers Associations).

! PÖFF belongs unofficially to the WORLD TOP 15 considered on the same category as Rotterdam and Göteborg Film festival.

! PÖFF is one of the most INFLUENTIAL film event in the Northern and Eastern Europe by number of ADMISSIONS, QUALITY and VOLUME of the program.
