Defining Talent Management
The term “Talent Management” was first introduced by Mc Kinsey consultants in the late 1990’s, it’s purpose is to allocate talented workforce to realize strategic goals set by an organization

Talent Management has not been only a process towards discovering already exciting talents but also it
means building up talents and this process of building up talents is the most crucial operation.
What is Talent ?
It is the sum of a person’s abilities, skills , knowledge, attitude, character, intrinsic aptitudes, his/her intellect
and more importantly the ability to develop their talents

What are the characteristics of a Talented individual?
Talented individuals perform tasks in a manner that exceed expectations, they posses qualities such as persistence, willingness to work hard for what they want, high competence, creativity, the aptitude to set and realize goals and plans, they are motivated, and ambitious. They are natural leaders and
have charismatic allure.

The Directorate of Human Resources of Sharjah Government possesses a database of Jobseekers and available occupations across the Emirate of Sharjah, which enables the predictions and anticipation of skills that are required for the future as well as majors that are in demand or are satiating the job market.

The Directorate of Human Resources has strategic partnerships with educational institutions and the Government and Private Sector in the Emirate of Sharjah. Through this partnership DHR is able to identify candidates that display the following traits: • Leadership • Professionalism • Show prominence in his/her
major or area of expertise.

Candidates are then nominated for training programs provided by the DHR free of charge, these training programs further develop their talents, and enable them to acquire new skills and knowledge. University Students are offered two training programs that are created specifically for the needs of their college life, and to help start up their career.
