OUR BRIEFOur client, a franchise company, wanted to hold a three-day exhibition in a central UK location as an opportunity to develop their stores and staff. They needed a venue which was suitable for conferences, workshops, exhibitions and networking, as well as being able to accommodate a large number of people and offering good value for money.

THE SOLUTIONFirst Event selected Coventry’s Ricoh Arena, a multi-purpose venue boasting a large exhibition hall and auditorium suitable for the size of the group.

First Event were responsible for achieving the client’s objectives: driving people to the exhibition, creating a buzz, and tailoring a plan to create a useful learning experience for the UK franchises.

The client hosted workshops on relevant topics, a main plenary session with motivational speakers, and an exhibition.

Post-event, First Event assessed the highlights of the event from client and delegate feedback. The top three included a high increase in attendance versus previous years (attributable to advanced communications and a more central location), a great choice of guest speakers, and a high level of interest from sponsors and exhibitors.

OUR BRIEFOur client is a pharmaceutical company which holds a bi-annual conference and incentive event. Event requirements include a topical conference itinerary, ample networking opportunities, and a luxurious overseas location to appeal to a well-travelled delegate group.

THE SOLUTIONHaving successfully delivered similar events for this client in the past, we were aware of what we had to do to ensure that this event exceeded expectations, leading us to the exotic destination of Cape Town.

Our experience working in this particular location meant that we had pre-established connections, which included a preferred DMC and a local AV production company. The versatility of the location allowed an incredible conference, accompanied by a series of excursions providing delegates with unique experiences that were only available in this particular destination.

The Belmond Mount Nelson Hotel played host to delegates for the entirety of their stay, providing a relaxing respite after a day of exploring Cape Town. Alongside a spectacular welcome dinner spent at a Bedouin-themed evening, delegates took a day trip to Boschendal Winelands (complete with a surprise visit from supervised cheetahs), and enjoyed an animal-themed gala dinner at the Cape Town City Hall.

After delivering yet another successful trip for our client, we received fantastic feedback. The client also signed up to a 2019 event.

OUR BRIEFOur client required a stand-out gala evening to end their 200th anniversary celebrations with a bang, highlighting key company messages and rewarding outstanding colleagues. The event also had to include a focus on the future of the business in its third century.

THE SOLUTIONWe pulled together a spectacular event at Birmingham Town Hall, including appearances by celebrity guests, highlighting the exclusivity of the evening. Guests enjoyed a welcome drinks reception before entering the auditorium for the main event, where they were entertained by presenter Patrick Kielty.

Performances included Birmingham’s poet laureate Matt Windle; electronic string quartet Escala; magician David Penn; and award-winning musical icon Beverley Knight. The night also saw 100 colleagues honoured for their dedicated service.

The event was a brilliant success, and additionally managed to raise over £200,000 for charity partners and local projects.

OUR BRIEFA repeat client of ours holds an annual incentive event for customers who hit yearly sales targets. After a successful trip to Florence previously, our clients wanted their second annual event to drive sales with a particular emphasis on their premium product range.

THE SOLUTIONWe decided to take our clients to Miami’s South Beach for a unique event that defied traditional tourist routes. Staying at the luxurious W South Beach Hotel adjacent to the beachfront, delegates enjoyed the affluence of Miami whilst also experiencing exciting activities included in our bespoke ground programme. Guests were sped around the houses of the rich and famous on jet boats, taken on a culinary walking and tasting tour, and accompanied on a guided tour of the Everglades, where they got up close and personal with alligators and native wildlife.

Ending the trip with a spectacular gala dinner and show at the exclusive new Faena Hotel, guests left Miami satisfied that they had received a memorable and rewarding experience personalised to their own interests.
