2. Focus on one risk/challenge to develop an anecdote.

3. Select your story wisely. If you don’t care, no one else will!

4. Parts of an essay = parts of a story–A. Introduction = exposition–B. Body = rising action, climax, and

falling action( details or examples)–C. Conclusion= resolution

• All writing should have a beginning, middle, and end.

6. Keep the tense consistent! Present/past will depend on essay itself.
