This week you are going to write your own information
report on a city of your choice. Your report needs a
title and an introduction which you will write today. In
your introduction introduce the reader to your chose
city and entice them to read more.
You will need to either use your own knowledge of the
city (If you have been there) or you can use the
internet to research.
Good cities to choose might be big cities that are well
known like London and Paris:
London: http://projectbritain.com/london/index.htm
Paris:

Go for a walk, a jog
or a bike ride with
your family.
Take a quick break. Have a chat
with someone you live with or get
some fresh air if you can.
During World War II, many people were evacuated from the
cities to the countryside where it was believed they would be
safer from bombing. In total, over 3.5 million children were
evacuated. Mostly children were evacuated but other
evacuees included mothers with very young children, pregnant
women, disabled people, teachers and helpers to look after
the children.
Pretend that you are evacuating in a week (so you’ve got plenty of time
to pack!) What would you want to take with you and why? Draw a
suitcase with your items in it and label them.

different shapes and

it with the materials
you will need. Think how
are you going to make
sure that it is strong
enough in the wind?
If you can, make your kite and test it. What can you do to improve your design?
