MONEY HISTORY

• 1910-1948 :Japan takes over Taiwan, the Mexican Silver (Mexican dollar).

• In 1904 a currency revolution. The Bank of Taiwan establishes branch offices in Japan.

• 1949-1967 : Currency relations cut off.• The New Taiwan dollar is issued• 1968-1979: In 1968 Taiwan invests $20

million in U.S. Government.• 1980-2003: United States puts pressure

on Taiwan to raise its currency rates.

NEW TAIWAN DOLLAR

• Official currency of the Republic of China, on Taiwan.

• Issued by the Central Bank of China

• The exchange rate generally NT$25=US$1.
