Know your airplane – Cherokee SixThe Cherokee Six is a complex airplane because

it has a controllable pitch propeller.

Well, maybe, the FAR/AIM states complex Airplanes as; “an airplane that has a retractable landing gear, flaps, and a controllable pitch propeller’.

The Six does not have retractable landing gear.

The Cherokee Six is a high-performance airplane because it has more than 200 horsepower. The FAR/AIM classifies a high-performance airplane as; “an airplane with an engine of more than 200 horsepower.”

The Six is so classified and flight time should be logged as high-performance in your log book.
