Aircraft chartering is an important division of Oceanic Navigation with over 10 years of experience in the airfreight of fresh produce, general cargo and livestock. Our livestock expertise involves not only the chartering of the aircraft but the design and provision of one way crates which are built to meet MPI (Ministry of Primary Industries – formally known as MAF) and IATA specifications. We also oversee the documentation requirements such as import permits and quarantine certificates. Flight routes are agreed depending on payload. Some flights are direct to destination whereas

others may require a refuelling stop to enable increased payloads. We supply stockman/grooms and where necessary veterinary officers. Oceanic provides a complete and professional service that can be tailored to any cargo required to be airfreighted from New Zealand.

Oceanic has the experience to provide dedicated horse shipments from New Zealand to China. There is significant investment in the equestrian industry and growing demand for the importing of sport horses and racehorses from overseas. Oceanic is ready and able to provide comprehensive air freight services into China for sport and racehorses. This service would include:

- Aircraft charter, contract negotiation and preparation - Recommendations on insurance and supply of quotes - Supply of horse stalls - Supply of grooms and veterinary officer - Overseeing loading in NZ and unloading in China - Overseeing the entire airfreight operations including

monitoring the securing of the import permits, pre export isolation, quarantine, vet checking, vaccinations and signing of veterinary certificates - Consolidation of cargoes from different shippers / suppliers, if required, to maximise utilisation of the aircraft space and payload weights As with other livestock the horses will be shipped with great care in accordance with animal welfare requirements. For flights requiring refueling in Guam (USA) USDA regulations are strictly observed.

- Ship chartering and shipbroking - Ship agency - Port agency - Vessel husbandry - Cargo management We charter ships, mainly for fresh produce, such as kiwifruit, squash and dairy cargoes.

We have experience also with livestock ships, bulk ships and general cargo ships. We provide agency coverage in all New Zealand ports and act as agents for regular shipments of bananas from the Philippines into New Zealand. We are an approved Military Logistics Operator providing support to foreign military vessels from a wide variety of countries.

A team of professional multilingual people We are 10 staff, including 2 Owners / Directors operating out of our office in Parnell, Auckland, New Zealand. We have a good mix of local New Zealand people combined with international multilingual people including Chinese, Japanese, German and Italian nationals speaking Cantonese, Mandarin, Japanese, German, Italian, Spanish and English. Of the two Owners / Directors Bruce Nisbet has a sheep and cattle farming background. He has worked as Shipping Manager for Fruitfed Export and Zespri before joining Oceanic over 16 years ago.

John Malyon has been with Oceanic for over 20 years and has a background in rural farm servicing companies, international trade in primary industries, including livestock. He has had previous roles as General Manager with Challenge Horticulture and Fletcher Fishing.

Bruce and John have visited China on a number of occasions and have attended the discharge of ships they have fixed as brokers for apples into Longkou, kiwifruit into Shanghai and the airfreight of cattle into Harbin in northern China.
