Rainbow of Dreams

Page 2: Tahc presentation

Todd Anglin had a dream to help clothe, feed, and shelter the poor children of the world and regularly made personal contributions to various charitable organizations. Before a tragic accident ended his life in April 2005, at the age of 28, he had exhorted his family, “We need to help the needy children.” Out of love, honor and respect to Todd, we have memorialized the legacy of our son, brother, and friend by forming the Todd Anglin Home for Children.

◦ To provide orphans and homeless children with a loving home in a nurturing environment.

◦ To meet the children’s physical, emotional, and educational needs.

◦ To endow the children with a bright future by engaging them in their societies and offering them invaluable learning opportunities.

The Todd Anglin Home for Children will care for children in Nicaragua and in Mexico. Through the generosity of contributors and grants, TAHC will continue to rescue more children. As we keep on expanding, we will forge ahead to establish additional homes for vulnerable and helpless children.

Our boys and girls range from a year and half to nine years old. Most come to the orphanage emaciated and malnourished. They often do not know how to maintain personal hygiene nor how to properly behave and treat others. In some cases, they were either physically or sexually abused at a young age whereas others were abandoned or habituated to living in extreme poverty.

The children are cared for by a director, trustworthy, compassionate house parents, additional staff and volunteers. The director, the psychologist, and the house parents have their hands full. Even with the help of specialists like psychologist, the orphanage staff has its hands full. It is a daily and consistent pedagogy. But, the children are improving and many have seen a remarkable turnaround.

Your generosity allows us to continue to provide poverty-stricken and vulnerable children with a loving home, warm beds to sleep in, daily nutritious meals, medical and psychological care, clothing, an education, and all that is necessary for our children to grow up happy and healthy.

TAHC in Nicaragua

Established in 2007, Todd Anglin Home For Children is to care for children in Nicaragua within one hundred miles of the capital, Managua. The goal is to provide children with a safe haven in a family environment, daily nutritious meals, clothing, medical and psychological care, schooling, and, above all, love and affection. The schooling, in particular, serves as a critical avenue to end the cycle of abuse and poverty for these children. In many different ways, the home works to prepare these children for the future, so they can become healthy, productive members of society.

Maria is 10 years old. She was abandoned and used to roam the streets and cadge for food. She loitered at major intersections with heavy and dangerous traffic . When the police finally picked her up, she had no identification and only knew her name and the psychologist gave her an approximate age. Today, Maria’s universe is full of hope. She is performing in the 80th to 90th percentile in school. Your donation continues to make a difference in Maria’s life. You allow her to have the same dreams as other children. Thank you for making Maria’s education and development possible.

When Rebecca and her two younger siblings, Estrella and Daniel, joined us two years ago, she was shy and distant. She had a dual personality, that of a mature woman and that of a 7-year old little girl. At a young age she had to care for her little brother and sister. She was also abused by a stepfather. At first, she would have nothing to do with the other children at the orphanage. She felt more comfortable as an adult and wanted to do all the house chores. Today, Rebecca is 9 years old and has significantly improved. She is doing well in school and has grown into a wonderful young lady. She participates in activities with the other children and is naturally responsible and nurturing.
