Regional Meeting Travel Assistance Fund (TAF) Goal The Travel Assistance Fund is a fund that aims to support delegates and NMOs in a difficult financial situation to attend the IFMSA Regional Meeting of the Americas. The funds are raised from contributions and from delegates to the Meeting. Methods The TAF will apply to all NMOs RM fees. All NMOs will pay 15 USD per delegate. All delegates will pay the TAF. The RD and the VPM are responsible for the allocation of Travel Assistance Fund. Delegates from all NMOs in the Region of the Americas are eligible for the Travel Assistance Fund. Up to two delegates from a National Member Organization can apply for the Travel Assistance Fund. NMOs applying for Travel Assistance Fund can only send a total of 3 delegates to the Meeting. Application The application consists of the official Travel Assistance Fund application form and motivation letter. The form must be filled out correctly and the motivation letter must contain the following points: Motivation of the applicant to attend the meeting. Outline of the goals of the applicant to attend the meeting and the benefits for the applicant and NMO of the applicant´s attendance. Explanation of all costs. Intended private fundraising (who has been approached, what steps have been taken, it needs to be shown what other avenues were and/or are explored). The president of the NMO in question must sign and stamp the form. The application must be sent by email to the RC ([email protected]). The time stamp of the electronic mail will be used as indication of the date, which deadline should be according to the GMT time and will be set each year. The submission of a candidature will be confirmed. The RD must inform the Organizing Committee of which applicants have been allocated Travel Assistance Fund. When Travel Assistance Fund is allocated, the participation fee will be covered completely. Additionally, the travel expenses (for the cheapest means of transportation) can be covered up to a maximum of 75% and 750 USD. Delegates who have been allocated Travel Assistance Fund must arrive at the Regional Meeting on the arrival day and stay for the entire meeting. Selection The criterias used to select the applicants will be:

● Clear outcomes of the participation. ● Previous participation of that NMO. ● Motivation of the application. ● Demonstration of the need for the TAF.

Reimbursement In order to receive the allocated Travel Assistance Fund, all original tickets and invoices must be handed in, at the meeting, within 48h of arrival to the RD The OC must send to the IFMSA General Account any remaining funds from the TAF.
