WELCOME! Welcome and thanks for coming to the ATTIC FILM FEST 2012. Although we are a small festival, we take our efforts very seriously while still attempting to make the FEST fun. TAFF’s mission is to offer a venue for Christian films to spread Christ’s message. Some of the films you will see are from professional filmmakers. Some are from directors still endeavoring to be professionals. Although we could not accept every film submitted, we hope that those selected will honor Christ and His message of forgiveness and love. That is, after all, why we do this event. At TAFF, we believe in the one true living God, that Jesus was God’s only son, born to be the savior and redeemer of all. Jesus ministered, performed miracles, sacrificed himself, suffered and died on a cross, to pay for all of human kind’s sin. We believe on the third day after His death he was resurrected. We believe He is alive and wishes relationship with every person. He is real, He is here, and He loves each and every one of us. It is our mission to find films that tell His story and the story of redemption for all. WHAT’S AT TAFF 2012? TAFF 2012 is offering three types of films. These include;

WINNER’S CIRCLE FILMS—winners of LAST year’s competition on Friday night, March 30th.

COMPETITION FILMS—or those that are competing with each other for cash awards and additional screenings sponsored by TAFF. These begin Saturday, March 31st with an Awards Ceremony Saturday evening. TAFF TALKS—discussion panels and talks on the Christian Film industry, talk from filmmakers, and why and how film can be an effective tool for evangelism. Talks are Sat, March 31st throughout the day ATTIC WORLD MINISTRY FAIR FILMS—films that highlight the ministries dedicated to the underserved people groups around the world.

ATTIC WORLD MINISTRY FAIR This year we are delighted to include AWMF as part of our FEST. Tables are in the lobby and hallways of the FTC Center. Look for the AWMF FACE photo or ask a host to direct you. Please visit with these fine folks and learn about how they are helping to provide the necessities of life that we so easily take for granted. TAFF has also included several films to help educate FILM FEST goers about these ministries on Friday night. We strongly encourage you to see these films and support these ministries.

FILM FEST ETIQUETTE When arriving at a screening room to see the next film, we ask that you do NOT enter until the previous film’s credits are concluded. Please be as quiet as possible while waiting to enter. And of course, please put your phones and pagers on silent mode while films are screening. We thank you in advance for your cooperation! REFRESHMENTS Refreshments and small meals are available for purchase provided by VANILLA ORCHID catering. TAFF Hosts will be happy to help you find them. Of course, popcorn is on us! HOW YOU CAN PARTICIPATE IN TAFF 2012 TAFF’s desire is that you feel part of this film fest so we ask for your participation. This festival is a competition. We wish to support the filmmakers in their important work. Therefore we offer cash awards for each competition category. You, as an audience member, can help decide the winner of the AUDIENCE FAVORITE AWARD. Ballots are provided. We ask that you fill out one ballot per person and place it in a BALLOT BOX. On Saturday evening, our AWARDS

ceremony will honor those films that best communicate the Gospel. This is what making films for Christ is about and how doing so can significantly impact the world. NOMINATIONS AND JUDGES A TAFF Judge’s Selection Committee is created for each TAFF competition. The committee consists of three to seven judges who are experts in the theatre, television, video, and film industries. They work anonymously to avoid influencing one another. They watch hours and hours of film. They are asked to select not only which films are accepted into the FEST but also nominate the films that exhibit excellence by category. Even they do not know the final results of the competition until they are announced at the Awards Ceremony on Saturday evening. Here are the nominations for this year’s FEST BEST TECHNICAL ACHEIVEMENT Awakening Journey to Jamaa Promised Land Rogue Saints The Human Experience BEST SCREENPLAY Cabernet Change for a Dollar Journey to Jamaa The Forgotten Martyr: Lady Jane Grey The Man Who Never Cried BEST PERFORMANCE

WARNING LABELS AND THEIR PURPOSE AT TAFF We take our responsibility to provide suitable quality Christian films very seriously. We also wish to be as up front as possible about the content of the films selected for the FEST while still providing the best possible films. Sometimes these films push the boundaries of what “Christian” films are perceived to be. At TAFF we are not afraid to push these boundaries. Some films will have content that some may find difficult. At TAFF we weigh each film’s content against the impact it may have for Christ. Therefore, on occasion, it is necessary to place a Warning label on a film that pushes these boundaries. Please heed and respect these warnings, as they are there to inform and protect. HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED IN TAFF TAFF is ALWAYS looking for sponsors and volunteers! Contact us at [email protected].

CHECK OUT THIS GREAT WORSHIP SONG! It’s been our constant companion throughout the planning stages of TAFF 2012.

by Hillsong Live | from the album A Beautiful Exchange

You are good, You are good

When there's nothing good in me You are love, You are love

On display for all to see You are light, You are light When the darkness closes in You are hope, You are hope You have covered all my sin

You are peace, You are peace

When my fear is crippling You are true, You are true

Even in my wandering You are joy, You are joy

You're the reason that I sing You are life, You are life,

In You death has lost its sting

Oh, I’m running to Your arms, I’m running to Your arms The riches of Your love Will always be enough

Nothing compares to Your embrace Light of the world forever reign
