Who contributes? The validation approach usually
determines who will participate.
The validation may: be internal or external be in partnership with another RTO include industry representatives or
technical experts.
Assessors are very important participants.

•Establishing the purpose, focus and context of the assessment validation.
Preparation
•Collecting, reading and interpreting assessment materials, for example policies and procedures, assessment guidelines.
Obtaining materials
•Submitting examples such as assessment instruments/tools, instructions, checklists.
Submitting materials
•You may be part of a team or a panel – be prepared to actively contribute.
Participating in validation
•Discuss the outcomes of the validation and suggest ways to make improvements.
Discussing findings

and evidence gathered samples of evidence, such as products and
documents assessment exemplars assessment policies and procedures feedback from candidates validation templates.
Ensure that you have the latest version of all documents.

Templates used for validation Form the basis for discussion, which may
include:
how well an assessment tool addresses the unit
experiences of using the tool
design of the tool
acceptable evidence
experiences and feedback from candidates
forms of reasonable adjustment
evaluation of tools against principles of assessment and rules of evidence
comparability of the evidence collected by different assessors.
