Play the leading role in

your own race and ride

the Tour of Flanders at

home like a real pro.

Virtual Reality trainersWith the Tacx Virtual Reality trainers cycling becomes a celebration. They offer unlimited entertainment and make an indoor training a real pleasure. What is so attractive about these VR trainers is that not only is the race displayed on the monitor of your PC, but true-to-life signals are transmitted to your bike. On a climb you will feel the gradient through the rear wheel and downhill it is just as if you had wings. There are four types of Virtual Reality trainers, with different brake systems. The Genius Multiplayer and the Genius are the brand new top models of the Tacx collection. The Fortius Multiplayer has been popular for many years now. And the new Flow Multiplayer makes VR training accessible to everyone. All VR trainers use the advanced Tacx Trainer software 3.0. The Multiplayer trainers include a manoeuvrable steering frame and a license for web racing.

PowerbackThe motor brake of the Genius and the Fortius features the Powerback system. This system converts the heat that is generated in the brake and released during the ride, into electricity that is then fed back into the power grid. This means that you are generating your own electricity. When you ride on the Genius, your PC shows the exact amount of energy that is fed back into the power grid.

Tacx Trainer software 3.0Join the world of Tacx and become addicted to indoor cycling. With the Tacx Trainer software

3.0 you integrate your VR trainer and your computer and transform them into a team with

unlimited possibilities. New worlds unfold before you on your monitor and turn cycling at

home into a spectacular event – that always will be continued. With the Real Life Video

films, for example, you can bring the world’s most famous hills and mountains to life on

your computer and immediately climb them. Even though the Madonna del Ghisallo and

the Cauberg are almost a thousand kilometres apart, you can still conquer both of these

legendary climbs the same evening at home. Or train together with Tom Boonen and his Quick

Step team in Spain.

You see before you what would actually be seen and the equipment simulates all the elements

that make the tour a real-life experience. Going uphill the resistance increases, easing off

as you go downhill. Using the control panels on the handlebar you can constantly check your

performances, like heart rate, power, speed and pedaling frequency. It’s even better than

during a real run. And anyone who has planned a run like that, can prepare himself thoroughly

by already exploring the tough sections in advance.

Virtual Reality, one big adventure

The Tacx Trainer software 3.0 has much more to offer. The five different Virtual Reality terrains

guarantee hours of cycling fun. Ride on a real cycle track, test your bike handling skills on the

mountain bike, conquer hairpin bends and stay cool during James Bond-like descents. Tacx’s

virtual riders move realistically with a superb pedaling style. They rise from the saddle, shift

gear, sprint – and celebrate.

Join the world of Tacx and be enchanted.

Genius Multiplayer T2000 The Genius Multiplayer, Tacx’s new top model, is unique. The combination of the sturdy frame and

the advanced Tacx Trainer software 3.0 makes riding through the virtual worlds a lifelike experience.

The Genius Multiplayer has a wireless motor brake with a computer-driven flywheel that generates

high power at low speeds. This makes climbing of hills and mountains even more realistic. The

communication between brake, interface and PC is wireless; the trainer itself has to be plugged into

an electric point. The trainer works with ANT technology and can therefore be combined with power

or cadence meters or other ANT applications. The Genius Multiplayer includes the new BlackTrack

steering frame. Available autumn 2011.

Genius T2020

The Genius has the same features as the Genius Multiplayer. It includes the Skyliner front wheel support,

but comes without Multiplayer license. These item can be bought separately. The Genius also makes a

perfect combination with the BlackTrack steering frame, which makes cycling in the VR world even more

adventurous. Another innovative accessory is the ANT Cadence sensor. This measures the cadence and

shows you through the software whether or not you are using equal force left and right during cycling.

Available autumn 2011.

Accessories

BlackTrack T2420

AccessoriesThis stylish new steering frame is very user-

friendly and compact. The front wheel is put into

a turnable plate and doesn’t have to be removed

from the bicycle. This makes the steering feel

better. Thanks to ANT the communication with

the PC is wireless. The trainer frame has to be

connected to two brackets on the last plate. The

steering frame is length adjustable. Rubber at the

bottom side prevents the rider from moving and

muffles noise.

Foldable

The BlackTrack steering frame is

foldable into a small package and

can therefore be stored easily. It

fits perfectly into a trainer bag,

together with the trainer!

Fortius Multiplayer T1930

The Fortius Multiplayer has been a very popular VR trainer for many years now. The powerful

motor brake simulates climbs and descents. When you are climbing you experience almost the

same resistance as if you were outside and when you are descending you do not have to pedal,

because the motor will drive your wheel. The modern interface is an oval ring containing the

keys. The Fortius Multiplayer includes the Tacx Trainer software 3.0 and the VR steering frame.

Entertainment is guaranteed with this high tech trainer that challenges you to break your

boundaries and push yourself to your limits.

Flow Multiplayer T2220

The Flow Multiplayer makes VR training accessible to everyone. Thanks to its excellent value for money this

new trainer has it all to become a popular VR trainer. The Flow Multiplayer has an electromagnetic brake.

This brake is less powerful than the motor brake – the wheel is not driven – but still guarantees a very

realistic cycling experience. The Flow Multiplayer is connected to the PC with a USB cable and includes the

Tacx Trainer software 3.0 and the VR steering frame. www.tacxflow.com

Films & softwareTacx has already published many different films for the Tacx trainers and there are more to come. The films are divided into five categories: cycling classics, mountain stages, training with the pros, Cycletours and Citytrips. New is the Climbs Collection, that contains a selection of the world’s most famous climbs. You control the speed of the Tacx films with your cycling pace. Cycling uphill in the film, the resistance that the brake offers corresponds with the actual gradient of the climb. An efficient way to improve your fitness and your cycling technique. All films contain gps data that is being displayed on 3D maps.

Tacx Video Player

This free program, that can be downloaded from the Tacx website, makes the complete

collection of Tacx films compatible with a Tacx cycletrainer, ergotrainer and fitnessbikes from

other brands. During cycling a bar chart in the film shows you in which position you best climb

or descend. You can change position manually through the resistance lever on the handlebar

or the handlebar computer.

VR Games

Arcade I is a DVD with games for the VR trainers with steering frame. It works like the well-

known Nintendo games. The big advantage is that during playing you also train and improve

your fitness. The focus is on agility, steering concentration and responsiveness.

VR software

The Tacx Trainer software 4.0 is brand new. This DVD with ultramodern software is available

separately and contains seven completely new VR terrains with spectacular gameplay.

different persons at the same moment. Take up

the challenge and lose yourself in one of these

interactive contests on one square metre. You can

link up with contacts through the Tacx website.

ErgotrainersThe Tacx ergotrainers enable demanding cyclists to train with scientific precision at the highest level. Not

only to improve their fitness, but also to ride themselves into shape at home for their important races and

tours of the season. Tacx offers you three ergotrainers. The Bushido is completely wireless and a technical

tour de force with many possibilities; step by step you can complete preset training programs. Tacx’s newest

high tech ergotrainer is the Vortex, the wireless variant of the Flow that has been popular for many years

now. All ergotrainers have a handlebar computer that, during training, shows all the relevant information

regarding power (Watt), speed, heart rate and pedaling frequency.

Ergotrainer + Upgrade PC = Virtual Reality trainer

The great advantage of the ergotrainer is that you can also turn it into a Virtual Reality trainer. With

the Upgrade PC package you can upgrade your Bushido, Vortex or Flow to a VR trainer with unlimited

possibilities, while at the same time you keep a stand-alone ergotrainer.

Bushido T1980

This is the favourite machine of all the professionals who only want the best of the best.

The Bushido is the world’s first completely wireless ergotrainer. You do not need to plug it in,

you can train wherever you want, inside and outside. The Bushido has a powerful brake system

with a flywheel that is fully incorporated in the housing. The menus are arranged to enable

you to start at once. The graphic display of the handlebar computer shows all the relevant

information (power, heart rate, pedaling frequency, speed, time, etc). The ergotrainer can also

be combined with external power meters from other brands, if they also work with the wireless

ANT technology. The Bushido includes the Skyliner front wheel support, that also functions

as a carrier. www.tacxbushido.com

CycletrainersTacx has become a household name for cyclists all over the world. Riding their Tacx trainer is the perfect way to train very specific and improve their power and fitness. When the weather is bad or during the cold winter months ‘the Tacx’ is always there, so that they can keep on training.

The best pro riders cannot live without their Tacx cycletrainer either. They use it during the warming-up for races and time-trials. The Booster, the new top model, and the trusted Satori are the super powerful cycletrainers of the professional teams of Rabobank, Vacansoleil-DCM, Quick Step, Omega Pharma-Lotto, Saxo Bank-Sungard, Leopard-Trek, RadioShack and Astana. For less demanding cyclists the Sirius and the three Cycletrack trainers are a perfect start. New is the Video Player, a program that can be downloaded from the Tacx website. It makes all Tacx films compatible with the cycletrainers.

The Tacx Booster is the official warming-up trainer at the Olympic Games and the UCI World Championships.

Booster T2500 Give yourself a boost with the Tacx Booster. This new cycletrainer with the sturdy look creates

pure power. Thanks to the magnetic brake that is even more powerful than the Satori brake,

the Booster generates very high power at low speeds. The Booster can be assembled easily

and is also safe, because the brake has been built in so that the rider cannot touch the

hot flywheel anymore. The Booster is the new number 1 cycletrainer of the pros for their

warming-up and training sessions. But of course the Booster is also available to all the

other riders that like ‘to Tacx’. This is the new leading cycletrainer, for everyone. The Booster

includes the Skyliner front wheel support. www.tacxbooster.com

Satori T1856 For many years now the sky-blue Satori has been the trusted warming-up trainer for the pros.

The robust Satori frame stands its ground almost anywhere and has been designed to withstand

incredible forces. The brake consists of a very powerful neodymium magnet, an extra large

steel flywheel and a handlebar resistance lever with 10 levels of resistance. At low pedaling

frequencies this trainer can generate very high power. It is for instance possible to generate 400

Watt at the relatively low speed of 27 km/h (17 m/h). This is exactly what you need shortly before

the start of your race. The Satori includes the Skyliner front wheel support, that also serves as a

carrying brace.

CycletrackSpeedmatic T1810The Speedmatic is based on the Cycletrack frame. This triangular frame stands stably

on any surface. The Speedmatic is equipped with the same brake system as the Sirius,

but has a lighter flywheel of 1 kg. Operation of the brake through the 10-position

resistance lever is identical.

Magnetic T1820Cycletrainer with magnetic brake but without

handlebar resistance lever. There is a button on the

braking unit that allows you to manually set the

resistance. There are seven positions.

is generated by air resistance and increases

exponentially when you speed up.Accessories

Sirius T1435

The Sirius is a cycletrainer with an ergonomically shaped frame

that rebounds slightly while you ride. The magnetic brake contains

two discs, each of which is equipped with six permanent magnets.

You can use the 10-position resistance lever on the handlebar to

shift the magnets’ position inside the brake unit in relation to one

another. During your work-out the power increases when you speed

up and/or shift to a bigger gear. The Sirius is equipped with a finely

balanced steel flywheel of 2 kg to allow for a fluid pedal stroke. The

Skyliner front wheel support can be bought as an extra accessory.

TraineraccessoiresThe trainer set-up of the pros is taken care of down to the finest details. A trainer mat to dampen the sound, a sweat cover to protect the bike from moisture and a trainer tyre that has been specially developed for riding on a Tacx trainer; it minimizes overheating, slippage and wear. The pros don’t leave anything to chance.

Follow their example and make your work-out complete. There are many accessories available which form a perfect combination in colour and design. From a handy transport bag to an advanced ANT heart rate belt and an Upgrade PC package to change your ergotrainer into a VR trainer, Tacx has it all.

Which accessory fits which trainer? On the following pages the most important trainer accessories are shown. Every article contains information about the type of trainer with which the product can be used. The colour indicates the trainer type: blue for VR trainers, green for ergotrainers and pink for cycletrainers.

50 51

RollersThe Galaxia and Antares are Tacx’s contribution to the popularity of track racing. Many world champions don’t go anywhere without their Tacx rollers. During their warming-up and training sessions they use the rollers to maintain their speed and suppleness, essential tools for a track cyclist. The Tacx rollers have a state of the art design. Thanks to the conical rollers your ride is extra stable, so you can focus even more on your goals in training: improving your fitness and pedal stroke and maintaining your speed.

Riding the Tacx rollers is a relatively easy way to up your track pace and make your muscles more supple. This makes for completely natural movements. You keep pedaling from the hips, just as you would on the road or track. A high pedaling frequency, that is needed for the right feeling in the legs, is also possible. There are cyclists who keep finding it hard to ride without a restraint. They use the support for Antares to secure the bike, without the front wheel, and still cover the mileage in front of them.

The Tacx Antares is the official warming-up trainer at the 2012 Olympic Games.

Rollers

Galaxia schommel

The Galaxia ‘swing system’ might look a little unsteady at first

sight, but it has the opposite effect: thanks to this invention by

Tacx the rider can stay on the rollers more easily.

Galaxia T1100

These revolutionary new rollers by Tacx move with the rider.

He can make sprints, stretch his legs and stand on the pedals

without having to be afraid to fall. He can move more freely,

because training on the Galaxia approaches the natural feeling

of the road. Thanks to the kinetic energy that is created during

accelerating, the trainer moves forward. When slowing down,

the trainer moves backward again. This invention is so unique

that is has been patented by Tacx. www.tacxgalaxia.com

Antares T1000

You can cycle freely on these streamlined rollers and refine your coordination and technique

in doing so. The heavy-duty tapered rollers ensure that it is almost impossible to ride off the

machine. High concentration on steering is required when riding without a brace; this reinforces

your sense of balance. The Antares is – just like the Galaxia – collapsible and measures only 80

cm when collapsed, making it easy to carry. These tough rollers are also ideal for track riders

who want to warm up just before their race.

Bottles & bottle cagesProfessional teams and their mechanics choose Tacx. For a reason: because good material has to be reliable under all circumstances. During the cycling season the bikes of all the Tacx Pro Teams contain the Tao and Uma, Tacx’s top bottle cages. The Tao carbon is used by the pro riders in the tough mountain stages. The Tacx Pro Teams also use the Shiva team bottles. These sturdy water bottles are manufactured in the nature-friendly Bio-Bottle version.

Team bottles, UmaDuring the cycling season, the top riders of Rabobank, Quick Step, Vacansoleil-DCM,

Omega Pharma-Lotto, Saxo Bank-Sungard and Astana all use the Shiva bottle in the

Bio-Bottle version. This nature-friendly, biodegradable bottle is a modern necessity for

a better environment. Tacx and its riders proudly play a part in this process. Adding a

small amount of the material named Bio-batch alters the molecular structure, which

makes the material decompose into Biogas and Biomass. These nourish the soil and

are entirely absorbed by nature. Light, heat and humidity do not effect the high quality

of this product. The Shiva forms a perfect combination with the Uma.

Source, TaoThe ‘lightweight look’ of the Source is accentuated by its transparent

colours. This water bottle has a pull lid with an asymmetric ring for

extra grip. The overall aerodynamic effect is the result of flowing

lines. The Source bottle matches the Tao nicely. This bottle cage

with a very streamlined design is stamped from aluminium plate,

anodized and partially coated in rubber. The carbon version of the

Tao weighs just 29 grams and is the pros’ favourite when every gram

is decisive for victory.

Tools & extra’sTacx bicycle tools are used on a daily basis by mechanics in the leading racing teams. They choose Tacx on account of its high quality and reliability. Cycle maintenance is not just the preserve of these specialists; anyone can get down to work at home with Tacx tools. There is something for everyone: tools for assembly, for dismantling, for cleaning and tools for use on the road. Also very popular are the Tacx repair stands; for many people an essential help during adjusting or repairing the bicycle. With Tacx’s repair stands and bicycle tools, from chain rivet extractors to sprocket removers and from cleaning brushes to cable cutters, everyone can set up his own workshop at home.

In addition to these, Tacx keeps developing unique products. A great newcomer is the Lumos bicycle lighting. These are LED lights that can be put inside the handlebar ends and shine forward and backward. In the dark, in rain or mist, thanks to the Lumos lights every bicycle rider can now see and be seen. A vital invention.
