LEARNING OBJECTIVES

TIGR Leadership and Development

An information management system designed for the lowest tactical level

leaders… supporting small unit mission planning, rehearsal, execution,

IPB, and after-action review… operating disconnected or in a shared secure low bandwidth tactical network environment • A collaborative/repository system for Company and

below to store and share combat information (i.e. the patrol leader’s universe)

• Ideal for RIP/TOA (which occurs daily at the platoon level in COIN)

• A starting point for bottom up refinement of operational assessments

• A tool to build mission prep briefs, to capture mission execution data, and to conduct end of mission briefs and IPB

What is TIGR?

TIGR

TIGR is intended for Small Unit Leaders (Patrol Leaders, Platoon Leaders, Company Commanders)

TIGR is for full mission cycle support (planning, analysis, execution, debrief) and for information dissemination

TIGR is tactical network friendly (even with media-rich reports)

• TIGR is program managed by DARPA in partnership with the US Army

• In FY2012 TIGR will fall under PM FBCB2 and has been officially assigned to TCM PBC for requirements

• TIGR maintains a CONUS and OCONUS ATO

• TIGR exists in OIF and OEF

• FORSCOM has accepted TIGR as an enabling tool for COIST

TIGR Network – Unique Characteristics

• Data saved is distributed automatically in its lowest possible data form (Meta / Thumbnail images)

• Data is passed server to server based on criteria established at the individual server level

• In absence of connectivity data is stored at the server level and distributed when connectivity is restored

• TIGR efficiently manages back end data distribution to ensure the lowest bandwidth possible is utilized

– Supports media rich reporting without bandwidth interruption
