Introduction

TACOPS is the acronym for “Tactical Operations.” When Bill Strang started TSSi, the emphasis was on supporting military Special Operations forces. Soon the company diversified its customer base by expanding sales into Law Enforcement tactical units. TACOPS encompasses both of these original customer bases, and was trademarked by TSSi to use for our own brand of products. These products are designed and developed by TSSi, with input

In the mid-90s, the Special Operations Medical community began a concerted effort to develop trauma management plans that took into account the unique challenges of combat medical personnel. Their efforts sought to identify the causes of preventable battlefield death, address them aggressively, and combine good medicine with good tactics. They further identified three primary phases to providing medical care prior to a casualty reaching a Medical Treatment Facility. These include: Care Under (effective) Fire, Tactical Field Care (while no longer under effective hostile fire), and Tactical Evacuation Care (occurring during transport). Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) is the on-going result of these efforts and

TCCC has resulted in U.S. combat forces achieving the highest casualty survival rate in the history of warfare. Civilian Emergency Medical System (EMS) personnel have also began to adopt the principles of TCCC into their practices to treat traumatic injuries and save lives.

The Committee on Tactical Combat Casualty Care (COTCCC) is a DOD-sponsored organization consisting of military and civilian emergency medicine and trauma experts who meet quarterly and update the published TCCC Guidelines as required. M-4 Special Operations Medical Bag

The M-4 is smaller than the standard issue M-5 medical bag and yet larger than the M-3/Unit 1 carried by combat medics and Navy corpsmen. The M-4 was designed by a current special operations Physicians’ Assistant (PA) who was also a former Special Forces 18D Medic.

The M-4 is broken down into three sections,the Dressing/Bandage compartment, the Airway Panel, and the Rear Storage and IV compartment. Its primary method of transport is attached to the standard issue ALICE or MOLLE rucksack. The M-4 can also be carried as a patrol pack, a fanny pack, or by its grab handles like a duffle bag. In addition to the three operational sections, the M-4 has drain holes in the bottom and is designed with a rain flap over the zipper. STactical Vehicle Kit Seat Covers

The V.A.M.P. (Vehicle Assault Medical Platform) was designed and developed to meet requirements for medical aid in a mobile environment. The platform is fully adjustable to fit most vehicle seats, forms to the seat and is padded for comfort.

The TSSi M-9 Assault Medical Backpack attaches to the platform using an integrated strap system with quick release capabilities allowing for operations away from the vehicle. The platform can also be used without the M-9 as a modular platform for attaching MOLLE pouches when medical support is not required.

The mesh zippered pouches within the M-9 Assault Medical Backpack are clearly labeled to identify the type of injury that can be treated. Each pouch is attached with hook and loop Velcro as well as a pull tab for easy removal. Pouches consist of the following: Bleeding (2 small pouches); Airway (1 small pouch); Basic First Aid (1 large pouch); Admin Pouch (1 small pouch).

The M.V.P. (Modular Vehicle Platform) was designed and developed to provide a modular platform to increase access to mission critical equipment in a mobile environment. The platform is fully adjustable to fit most vehicle seats. The modular panel is MOLLE compatible allowing the user to set it up to meet individual mission requirements. Detachable panels are interchangeable, allowing the user to configure the vehicle for different mission requirements.
