This training would allow development practitioners who work on inclusive growth to assess the impact of COVID19 on businesses, farming and industrial systems, financial and technological services and design

pivoted solutions that can tackle the impacts while ensuring growth. Learn from the practitioners who are doing it real time. The first batch

had 32 participants from 6 countries.

It is now your time!

COVID 19 has disrupted businesses and

economies.

To remain relevant and to sustain growth, businesses

are forced to pivot and adopt innovations. It’s a race

against time.

“I noticed that your BMC training model has brought a lot of excitement. I also observed that you had very diverse

and active participants from various countries in the region. Our colleagues were equally excited to attend this training. They already provided a good reflection from the

training as well. We are very thankful to the Innovisionteam for providing us a special sharing session of our

project lessons learned on the use of BMC, and tackling COVID 19 impact using the Business Model Canvas as a

Tool to pivot.”

"The training was very insightful, timely and interactive. Presentations were interesting with very simple and

illustrative slides that kept us all engaged. Using BMC as a tool to pivot COVID-19 effect to our VC enterprises is a

real eye-opener for us all. I also found the workshop refreshing and motivating – the 9 elements of BMC are clearer to me now and how it interconnected with each

other. You guys were very engaging trainers and covered a range of topics which appealed to everyone. I think

everyone is going to take away some good action plans. I would recommend the course to my colleagues and

friends as it provides good learnings on how to be more effective in providing advisory support to our farmers’

cooperative."

“I am honored to have been part of the online training. It was a time of learning. Doing the exercises, the

comments, feedback and assistance from the speakers, together with the discussions and interactions in the small

groups helped me understand it better. The BMC is a powerful and beneficial tool if well understood and used,

especially with this pandemic the world is being faced with. I realized that for individuals working in a Project like

me, there is a need to always be conscious of who the BMC is for. What is also good with the tool is that it could

be used to almost everything, not just on business per se. Thank you for a wonderful training and a time of

learning! “

Why this Workshop is

important

The world is currently going through an unprecedented crisis. Due to Covid19 pandemic

people are isolated, regular work has been stopped, logistics and supply chain cannot keep

up, manpower is scarce, and cash flow has hit all time low. Poor and low-income population are

being further marginalized due to the disruption in economic activities. The face of poverty is also

changing. Agility and adaptation have become key drivers to surviving the pandemic and its aftermath. Development interventions in this

context need to be seen from the perspective of how the pandemic has impacted the value chains

and market systems, what the long-term implications are and how these can be tackled for

revival and sustenance of inclusive growth.

BMC is a tool that provides a snapshot of nine critical elements that an organization needs to build to sustain and scale their business. Mastering it can provide critical understanding of where changes need to be brought for organizations to rebuild and grow.

The tool can be used to identify blind spots and hot spots of impact and make necessary adjustments to the business model.
