Quoting in whole or in part is encouraged With a credit line, please. 6-3-05 LIES, FRAUD & STUPIDITY! AND THAT’S THE GOOD NEWS. PART 2. Today it was mentioned in “the Iraqi story” in The Oregonian that only 15-20,000 Iraqi military men were actually deployed in “Operation Lightning.” But they did arrest 600-700 ’terrorist suspects’ in toto so far, and killed fifty or sixty. This “Operation Lightning” info was buried in a propaganda story issued by the new Iraqi government that the insurgents had killed about 18,000 people since the war---er, the American invasion-- -began. A horrible total. Not mentioned were the 100,000+ people killed by our air attacks and soldiers. The Bad News? That’s the stock market losses and the news that the American economy created only 78,000 new jobs in May. Actually, 175,000 new jobs were expected. But that low number is a fluke! There were other shortfalls in the economy, too, and the price of crude oil went up to $55 a barrel, but not to worry! Just keep on borrowing and spending, folk! Everything will work out fine! After all, we’re A*M*E*R*I*C*A*N*S and blessed by God! We are the most powerful nation ever seen on Earth, and by manifest destiny assured of a bright, prosperous future…just like ancient Rome!
