Melamine ( MFMDF )For general routine cleaning, wipe the melamine surface by applying a mild non abrasive soap solution using a soft lintfree cloth. Then rinse clean with a damp lint free cloth anddry thoroughly.

More stubborn stains including oil, varnish or paint may be removed when rubbed with methylated or white spirits. Thenrinse tops clean with a damp lint free cloth and dry thoroughly.

Furniture polishes should not be used, they can result in the build up of wax or silicone on the surface leaving smears.

GlassGlass must be cleaned with a good quality proprietary glass cleaner. Care must be taken to read the manufacturersinstructions to assess its suitability and strictly follow the manufacturers health and safety handling recommendations.

AluminiumFor general aluminium polishing apply a proprietary waxpaste to polished aluminium components carefullyfollowing the manufacturers instructions.

Cable managementEnsure no liquid is allowed to access the power modules, should this happen isolate from the electrical supplyimmediately and consult a qualifi ed electrician.

Our table and credenza cable management is designedto comply with BS6396. The sockets on BS6396 compliant installations are for use with equipment with a maximumcurrent rating of 5A. Furniture mounted sockets mustnot be used for high current appliances such as kettles, vacuum cleaners and heaters.

If equipment exceeding this rating is to be used on thefurniture this must be con-nected directly to it’s own 13A supplyBS6396 restricts the maximum number of sockets fed from asingle 13A plug supply to 6 when they are individually fusedat 3.15A.

These restrictions should not be exceeded as it may leadto overload or excessive earth leakage currents back tothe supply.

Our power modules are fi tted with user replaceableceramic anti-surge HRC fuses as standard. Prior toreplacing any fuses ensure the power module isisolated from the electrical supply.

For replacement fuses contact Orangebox.

Replacements must be of the same type and rating and comply with the restrictions as previously indicated.Under no circumstances should glass fuses be used asre-placements even though the rating may be the same.

Care of Wood FinishesThe fine finish applied during manufacture is a hardprotective lacquer resistant to moderate heat and spillagesof some beverages, but not alcohol. All spillages should bewiped off immediately with a slightly damp cloth. The onlycleaning necessary is again to wipe with a slightly dampcloth and buff with a soft duster.

Under no circumstances should a silicone polish orwax be used as these damage the finish and preventthe furniture from being refinished.

Care of GlassWipe with a damp cloth periodically and buff with a dry,non-abrasive cloth.

Wood veneerFor general routine cleaning simply dust and wipe yourveneered surfaces with a soft, damp lint free cloth anddry immediately using a soft clean cloth. Always wipeveneered surfaces in the direction of the wood grain. After any liquid spillage wipe surfaces immediately toavoid any permanent staining.

More stubborn stains can generally be removed by applying a mild, lukewarm non abrasive soap solution using a softlint free cloth, gently rubbing over the stain working up a thin lather. Take great care not to apply too much liquid and remember to always rub in the direction of the wood grain and dry immediately using a clean soft cloth.

We also strongly advise against the use of wax or spraypolish on lacquered veneered surfaces, as a build upof polish will eventually damage the fi nish and causeunsightly patches.

Please note that we cannot be held responsible for anyproduct to which polish has been applied.

The shade and grain of wood veneers vary, even afteroptional colour matching during the polishing process. This is not a fault but just part of the appeal and beautyof natural wood veneers.

To minimise the risk of damage please take somesimple precautions...• Use coasters under glasses and hot mugs.• Don’t place potted plants on a veneered surface

unless kept in a watertight container and takeextreme care when watering.

• Veneer is susceptible to bruising and scratchingso use protective pads under any equipment.

• Sunlight can damage veneer surfaces so avoid overexposure to direct sunlight. Fit blinds where necessaryto diffuse the light.

• Avoid exposure to excessive heat from a fi re, radiatoror local high temperature light sources.
