Guidelines for Player Image Use in Advertising2015.16 Season
Corporate Partners of the Pittsburgh Penguins wishing to use imagery* of players, either on or off the ice, in their advertising for Penguins publications, must adhere to the NHLPA’s Group License Agreement and the following guidelines set forth to teams by the NHL and NHLPA:
• Artwork must contain four (4) or more players who are equally represented either in a single image or multiple images of equal size and placement.
• All artwork containing player images is due no later than Friday, August 28, 2015.
• All artwork containing player images is subject to approval by both the NHL and the NHLPA. The earlier deadline is required to accommodate this approval process.
• Either the NHL or the NHLPA, or both, can request changes to submitted artwork or can reject it outright due to league or player contractual conflicts.
• The images can only contain Pittsburgh Penguins players. You do not have the rights to promote other team’s players outside of their home market.
• The NHLPA logo will need to be placed on all ads containing player imagery.
• Player imagery includes photographs, references to names/numbers and drawings or likenesses of National Hockey League players.
