The!winch!is!NOT!designed!for!pulling!or!lifting!people,!or!hoisting!objects!over!people!or!objects.!The!winch!is!ONLY!designed!and!warranted!for!use!with!GorillaBac!Models!#3801!and!#3802!and!in!a!

manner!consistent!with!GorillaBac!safety!precautions,!warnings!and!instructions!related!to!assembly,!setYup,!maintenance!and!operation.!!

The!freeYspool!clutch!is!operated!by!a!pull!and!clockwise!turn!of!the!knob,!which!disengages!the!gearbox!and!allows!the!wire!cable!to!be!pulled!out!without!using!electric!power.!

The!electric!winch!is!equipped!with!a!permanent!magnet!motor,!designed!for!intermittent!use!ONLY.!The!duration!of!the!pulling!should!be!kept!as!short!as!possible.!If!the!winch!motor!becomes!hot!to!the!touch,!stop!the!winch!and!let!it!cool!down.!

ALWAYS!pull!logs!through!an!unobstructed!path!to!prevent!tipping,!flipYover,!or!shift!in!GorillaBac!positioning.!

ALWAYS!perform!pulling!of!the!log!using!the!Pulley!Block!connected!to!the!Pull!Chain.!To!meet!operating!standards,!avoid!lift!damage,!and!prevent!splitter!tipYover,!the!Pulley!Block!MUST!be!utilized!for!retrieval!of!a!log.!

ALWAYS!pull!logs!to!a!position!within!a!few!feet!to!the!GorillaBac!Base!before!slacking!off!the!cable!and!disconnecting!the!Pull!Chain!from!the!Pulley!Block.!

!NEVER!pull!a!log!that!is!frozen!to!the!ground!or!wedged!against!or!between!objects.!NEVER!pull!or!lift!logs!without!positioning!the!GorillaBac!Stabilizer!Foot!onto!firm!ground!with!a!level!

log!splitter!IYbeam!and!plumb!Winch!Mast.!NEVER!pull!logs!with!GorillaBac!Stabilizer!Foot!on!cement,!loose!gravel,!ice!or!unstable!ground.!To!

prevent!movement!of!the!splitter,!the!Stabilizer!Foot!must!press!into!firm!ground.!NEVER!pull!logs!without!connecting!the!Pulley!Block!to!the!Pull!Chain.!NEVER!position!yourself!between!GorillaBac!and!a!log!being!pulled;!stand!away!from!all!moving!

machine!when!lifting!a!log.!Standing!near!or!under!a!suspended!log!presents!a!crushing!hazard.!ALWAYS!perform!the!lifting!of!the!log!and!positioning!onto!the!splitter!beam!while!positioned!on!the!

opposite!side!of!GorillaBac!from!the!log,!and!at!an!arm’s!length!away.!ALWAYS!use!the!Boom!Control!Arm!when!lifting,!moving!or!positioning!a!suspended!log!onto!the!

splitter!IYbeam.!ALWAYS!extend!and!maintain!a!firm!grasp!on!the!Boom!Control!Arm!when!lifting!and!moving!a!log!

toward!the!splitter!IYbeam.!ALWAYS!load!log!onto!the!splitter!IYbeam!between!the!fixed!endplate!and!the!movable!wedge,!

with!the!square!cut!edge!of!the!log!against!the!endplate;!this!prevents!the!log!from!kicking!out!and!avoids!a!possible!GorillaBac!Mast!pinchYpoint!injury!or!equipment!damage.!

ALWAYS!set!the!log!securely!on!the!splitter!beam!and!power!out!the!cable!a!few!inches!to!provide!slack.!A!tight!cable!could!cause!damage!to!the!equipment!or!cause!the!Gorilla!Grip!to!loosen!while!splitting.!
