Notice to Tenderer1.0WORK ACCESS PERMITS AND ASBESTOS CONTAINING MATERIALS (ACM)

Your attention is drawn to the possibility that areas covered in this scope of works may involve Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM). All builders, contractors and subcontractors are required to have a Work Area Access Permit (WAAP) which must be issued by the school prior to commencement of any works. (No Permit – No Work) Contained with the WAAP will be a copy of the latest issue of the Built Environment Materials Information Register (BEMIR) which will contain details of any ACM that have been tested or presumed. The Principal Contractor is responsible for providing the information contained within the WAAP and BEMIR ACM register to all contractors, suppliers and cleaners engaged under the principal contract.

Where ACM is located or presumed, extreme care is to be taken and the Project Manager is to be notified immediately if work is to commence in a possible ACM environment.

The Contractor is referred to the Working on Department of Education, Training and Employment (DETE) Facilities document which is included in these tender documents - see section 3 (Supporting Information) for management of Asbestos and Asbestos Containing Materials. The contractor to provide a clearance certificate from the Class A Asbestos Removalist and independent air monitoring during demolition

2.0TENDERER TO INFORM ITSELF

It is not mandatory for contractors to visit the site and familiarise yourself with the extent of works, however a site inspection has been arranged for Monday 27 February, 2016 at 10:00am - please meet at Administration Reception. The School will not take sub-contractors around the site at any other time.

The tenderer is deemed to have visited and inspected the site, its surrounds and satisfied itself of the conditions and facilities and otherwise acquainted itself with all matters relating to the proposed works before submitting a tender.

The tenderer is to include for a site visit to take accurate measurements, quantities and conditions prior to ordering any materials.

3.0 PROGRAMME

This government funded project has strict time frames and as such Tenderers should endeavour to complete works by the stipulated time. The successful contractor will be required to submit a programme for review and approval by the superintendent - this will need to be agreed with the schools and the contractor at the start of the project.

All works shall be completed by the 7th July, 2017.

4.0 COST OF TENDERING

Cost of tendering shall be borne by the Tenderer.

5.0 CONTRACT

The applicable contract will be the Medium Works Contract as modified by the special conditions of contract.

Contractors are to complete the Tender Form and the Tender Breakdown with their tender submission.

6.0 TENDER WEIGHTING

The Tender will be assessed on the following weighting:

Tender Price - 60%

7.0 TENDER CLOSING

Tender Submissions are requested at or before 3:00pm on Friday the 24th March, 2017 Late tenders will not be accepted.

A tender report and recommendation will be carried within (5) days with the intention of starting works shortly thereafter.

8.0 PreliminariesThis section does not limit or replace any conditions of the contract nor restrict standard building practices.

The contractor is to allow for safe working areas at all times, in accordance with the Work Place Health and Safety Act and standard building practices.

The contractor is responsible for disposal of all removed and excess materials.

The contractor is to allow for and maintain hoarding to the works areas by means of an 1800 high hoarding during works on the site or locked works site - as required.

9.0 Telecommunications and ICTThe contractor is referred to the supporting document "Telecommunication Works - Instructions" regarding the requirement to engage one of the DET approved sub-contractors for any and all telecommunication works on DET assets and site. All contractors shall comply with this requirement.
