VMware Cloud Marketplace Beta Release
VMware Cloud Marketplace offers the ability to browse and filter validated third-partyproducts and solutions, view technical and operational details, and facilitate Bring YourOwn License (BYOL) deployments.
VMware Cloud Marketplace Beta integrates with VMware Cloud on AWS. Customers canmake their third-party solutions visible and available from within their VMC on AWSSDDC vCenter console, enabling them to configure and deploy solutions from withintheir content libraries.
Key Benefits of Cloud Marketplace
• Discovery – Quickly explore and discover third party solutions and servicesacross numerous categories.
• Validation – Customers can trust the quality of solutions offered because theyare validated and tested by participating partners throughout the solutionlifecycle.
• Ease of use – Customers gain access to solutions and services when and wherethey need them.
• Ease of business – Customers will receive a single unified invoice from VMwareshowing VMware products/services as well as those from third-parties, all in oneplace
• Hybrid cloud support – Customers have freedom from cloud lock-in for thirdparty content, allowing VMware to offer new hybrid cloud deployment capabilitiesnot possible with any single cloud provider.
• Simplified lifecycle management – VMware Cloud Marketplace leveragesVMware Cloud Assembly, which enables customers to easily build, provision anditerate on infrastructure and applications in line with DevOps principles.

Lab GuidanceThe Table of Contents can be accessed in the upper right-hand corner of theLab Manual.
This lab shows you how easy it is to deploy validated third-party solutions and serviceson VMware-based SDDCs, such as VMware Cloud on AWS, vCloud Director and VMwareEnterprise PKS. You will be guided through three Interactive Simulations that show howto deploy WordPress in each of the VMware-based SDDCs.
Lab Module List:
• Module 1 - Subscribing to Solutions on VMC from Cloud Marketplace (15 minutes)- This Interactive Simulation will walk through the process of using VMware CloudMarketplace to deploy WordPress virtual appliance to a Content Library in avCenter hosted in AWS. The template will then be used to deploy a WordPressvirtual machine from the Content Library.
• Module 2 - Subscribing to Solutions on vCD from Cloud Marketplace (15 minutes)- This Interactive Simulation will walk through the process of using VMware CloudMarketplace to deploy WordPress virtual appliance to a vCloud Director catalogand then deploying it to a vCloud Director VDC.
• Module 3 - Deploying the Cloud Marketplace Client for Kubernetes in PKS (15minutes) - This Interactive Simulation will walk through the process of installingand configuring the Cloud Marketplace Client for Kubernetes in PKS
• Module 4: Subscribing to Solutions on PKS using Cloud Marketplace (15 minutes) -This Interactive Simulation will walk through the process of using VMware CloudMarketplace to deploy WordPress to a Kubernetes container. It also reviews theconfiguration and updating of WordPress.
This lab manual can be downloaded from the Hands-on Labs Document site found here:

Location of the Main Console
1. The area in the RED box contains the Main Console. The Lab Manual is on the tabto the Right of the Main Console.
2. Your lab starts with 90 minutes on the timer. The lab can not be saved. All yourwork must be done during the lab session. But you can click the EXTEND toincrease your time. If you are at a VMware event, you can extend your lab timetwice, for up to 30 minutes. Each click gives you an additional 15 minutes.Outside of VMware events, you can extend your lab time up to 9 hours and 30
minutes. Each click gives you an additional hour.3. All work in this HOL Interactive Simulation will take place in the manual.
Activation Prompt or Watermark
When you first start your lab, you may notice a watermark on the desktop indicatingthat Windows is not activated.
One of the major benefits of virtualization is that virtual machines can be moved andrun on any platform. The Hands-on Labs utilizes this benefit and we are able to run the
HOL-2080-01-ISM
Page 5HOL-2080-01-ISM
labs out of multiple datacenters. However, these datacenters may not have identicalprocessors, which triggers a Microsoft activation check through the Internet.
Rest assured, VMware and the Hands-on Labs are in full compliance with Microsoftlicensing requirements. The lab that you are using is a self-contained pod and does nothave full access to the Internet, which is required for Windows to verify the activation.Without full access to the Internet, this automated process fails and you see this
watermark.
This cosmetic issue has no effect on your lab.
Introducing VMware Cloud Marketplace (Video - 2:38)
The VMware Cloud Marketplace™ enables VMware customers to discover and deployvalidated third-party solutions and services for VMware-based SDDCs, such as VMwareCloud on AWS and VMware Cloud Provider Partners. Watch this video to see how TrendMicro, Veeam, and Dell EMC have joined VMware Cloud Marketplace to enable userssearch, browse, filter download, subscribe, and deploy their services both on-premiseand in the cloud.

IntroductionVMware Enterprise PKS enables enterprises to efficiently deploy, run and manageKubernetes clusters in production environments. It includes all key enterprise featuressuch as enhanced security, high availability, rolling upgrades, constant healthmonitoring and self-healing.
Once you have VMware Enterprise PKS working for your enterprise, the next step is todeploy applications on it. That’s where Kubeapps comes in. Kubeapps provides anapplication dashboard that allows you to deploy Kubernetes-ready applications into yourcluster with a single click.
Overview
This Interactive Simulation will walk you through the process of deploying the VMwareCloud Marketplace Client for Kubernetes in PKS, Kubeapps. Kubeapps is a one-timeinstall that gives you a number of important benefits, including the ability to:
• browse Helm charts from public or your own private chart repositories and deploythem into your cluster;
• upgrade, manage and delete the applications that are deployed in yourKubernetes cluster;
• browse and provision external services from the Service Catalog and availableService Brokers.
