This publication featuring the 2008-09 Morgan State University men’s basketball team has been prepared to aid you in covering the Bears this season. Additional information is available through Leonard Haynes, MSU’s primary men’s basketball contact.

Services: The Morgan State Sports Infor-mation staff will provide programs, pre-game notes and statistics, halftime and fi nal box scores and game play-by-play to all media. Statistics will be distributed at halftime and following the conclusion of the game.

Media Accommodations: The media will be seated at tables located on the fl oor level of Hill Field House during the game. Radio broadcasts will be assigned seats at the scorer’s table or on press row. The Press Room is located in Hill Field House. It will be open prior to the game, at halftime and after the game. Admis-sion by media credentials only, please.

Coach and Player Interviews: Coach Bozeman can be reached directly for in-terviews on weekday mornings. All Bear practices are open to the media. Please contact the Sports Information Depart-ment for player interviews at least one day in advance. Coach Bozeman and MSU players will be available for post-game interviews approximately 10 minutes

after each contest in the Press Room. Requests should be directed to Leonard Haynes prior to the conclusion of each game.

Ticket Information: All ticket orders should be directed to the Morgan State University Ticket Offi ce by phone at (443) 885-4018.

Credentials: Media credentials for men and women’s basketball games should be requested from the Sports Informa-tion Offi ce. Requests should be made in writing and on company letterhead. Credentials are limited to members of the working media who are assigned to cover Morgan State basketball. If time permits credentials will be mailed, if not they may be picked up at the ‘Will Call’ booth. Every eff ort will be made to fi ll all requests. Credentials are for adult use only and are not transferable.

Photographers: Photographers and television camera personnel are asked to work the endlines and stay clear of the team benches and offi cial scoring areas.

Telephones: A limited number of telephones for post-media use are provided in the Sports Information Offi ce.

Fax Services: Fax machine service will be available in the media work room. If you need a final box score faxed, please supply the appro-priate phone number to a Sports Information staff member.

Internet Services: Morgan State is part-nered with Internet Consulting Services (ICS) to host its offi cial athletic website. Located at www.MorganStateBears.com, the site contains updated cumu-lative statistics, box scores from previous games and game summaries. The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference website is located at www.meacsports.com.

NCAA Guidelines and the MediaMedia members should be aware of several NCAA rules that apply to student-athletes. If there is ever a question of media-related activity or event including a Morgan State studen-athlete could be a possible NCAA violation, contact sports information director Leonard Haynes for an interpretation. Areas of concern include:

• Coaches and University offi cials cannont make comments on prosepective student-athletes until they sign a national letter of intent. A coach cannot comment of prospective student-athlete who verbally commits to an institution.• Coaches and athletic staff are not permitted to write guest columns for publications.• Do not ask student-athletes to list or endorse products• Student-athletes may not be used in advertisements or endorsement of products, including media-related publications.• Student-athletes are not permitted to conduct interviews for 1-900 services

Talmadge Hill Field House

Without a doubt, Morgan State boasts one of the fi nest college basketball arenas in the nation. Talmadge Hill Field House holds 4,250 fans for basketball, and no matter the location, the theater seats off er a great view of the game. Hill Field House is also the home of Lady Bear volleyball, conventions tournaments, and have held performances by artists such as Earth, Wind & Fire , Bill Cosby and Eve. Hill Field House includes men’s and women’s basketball locker rooms, two weight rooms and a state-of-the-art training room. The facility also includes a dance studio, racquetball courts, multi-purpose room and is the location of the MSU athletics department. The basketball media facilities are located courtside in addition t o camera and radio capabilities. Since its completion in 1999, Hill

Field House has been the site of many MEAC championship events including the MEAC volleyball championships and the 2000-01 All-Star Basketball game. Morgan State’s fi rst game in Hill Field House was against Alcorn A&M on December 1974, a game the Bears won 84-76.

This is the 34th season of play in Hill Field House. The Bears will open the 2008-09 season on a brand new wood fl oor that was installed earlier in the fall. The fl oor was designed by the MSU Athletics Department and made by Dura-Glo Flooring based out of Westbury, New York.
