PT FREEPORT Indonesia (PTFI) recorded

a decline in production and sales performance in its flagshipcommodities, namely copper and gold. During Q3/2019, PTFI copper and gold production and sales fell by more than half compared to the same period last year.

This achievement can be seen in the Quarter III-2019 report of FreeportMcMoran (FCX). Just so you know, FCX currently holds 48.76% in PTFI and manages its mining operations, so PTFI's performance is consolidated in FCX's financial statements.

Until the end of September 2019, PTFI's copper production was 461 million down 53.43% compared to2018 of 990 million pounds.

In line with the declining production, PTFI's copper sales also dropped 53.73%. Until the end of September 2019, PTFI was only able to sell 464 million pounds compared to the same period last year of 1 billion pounds.

The realization of the average price for this copper mineral commodity also dropped from US$ 2.93 per pound in Quarter III2018 to US$ 2.70 per pound in the third quarter of this year.

In its operations and financial reports, the realization of copper ore sales from mines in Indonesia until nine months of 2019 was only 464 million pounds. This achievement fell by around 53.74% compared to copper sales in the same period last year which reached one billion pounds. For gold sales, there were only 659 thousand ounces, down 68.69% compared to last year's 2.1 million ounces.

The low sales are in line with the realization of copper ore production of 461 million pounds, 53.44% lower than 990 million pounds in the same period last year. For gold production of 645 thousand ounces, down 69.12% compared to production in the same period in 2018 of 2.09 million ounces.

“Tinggal beberapa bulan lagi sebelum akhir tahun, mudah-mudahan royalti setidaknya menyentuh angka Rp 2 triliun. Memang kalau melihat perkembangannya dari tahun ke tahun terus meningkat,” jelasnya.
