High Speed Encrypted Data Transmission Through LASER Diode
The project basically revolves around the concept of Visible Light Communication
(VLC) which is a subset of optical wireless communication.Depending on the
technological developments, the variety and quality of the communication devices and
applications running on these devices have increased dramatically. Wireless
communication uses RF waves beneath 10GHz which cannot satisfy the speed and
bandwidth demands. It is also prone to interference that leads to security issues. Since
VLC uses the Light spectrum it does not come up with all of these problems.

Smart Street Light System
Currently, enormous amount of electrical energy is being consumed by the street
lights, which are switched on throughout the night. This causes a huge waste of
electrical energy across the world and should be changed. The main aim of smart
street light systems is that lights turn on with full intensity only when there are vehicles
or pedestrians on the road and remain off otherwise. The street lights can be powered
by the electrical energy generated through the pressure applied by footsteps and
vehicles. So we don’t need to provide power to the street lights separately. The smart
street light system consists of LED lights, lux meter, motion sensors and short-distance
communication networks. Our main purpose is to make such a street light system in
which intensity of street lights increases when a car comes closer to it and decreases
when it moves away from the light pole.

Personal Security System and Community Safety Analysis
Day by day the personal safety is becoming the common issue, such apps do exist,
and kidnappers are equally smart to confiscate the victim’s phone. Hence the strategy
to switch to an independent hardware and android app is focused in our project. Here
we introduce a device which ensures the protection of men as well as women by
allowing them to timely report any personal security threat to concerned authorities to
minimize the threat.

Low Earth Orbit Optical Satellite Tracking
As the world of Health based technologies continues to evolve, the concept of using
gadgets as aid devices becomes more established. Through data collected from
various researches done on remote object tracking, we intend to create a gadget
capable of effective live time object tracking and locating. Our target demographic
being senior citizens, especially those with Dementia, Alzheimer’s or other such
mental diseases. Due to their tendency to misplace items and then repeatedly worry
over them, they are subject to an enormous amount of mental distress. . We also see
that there are very few health aids developed with the aim of helping those with
dementia or it’s more severe form Alzheimer’s. There is a surprisingly large population
of nearly 40% of all senior citizens that will soon be faced by this disease. Our aim
with this project is to keep the project as simple as possible, to enable more and more
people with dementia to use this product. With most products so far containing the
serious flaw of being smartphone based In order to make the programming easier, we
aim to differentiate out product by creating an independent and self-automated device
that requires minimal effort on part of the user enabling a virtually automated
experience.

Vehicle Classification and Recognition System
This project aims to develop a system that can classify vehicles and read their number
plates on the basis of their manufacturing companies and corporations. In order to
accomplish this, we first develop our own image dataset using google. Afterwards we
are working with the latest deep learning libraries i.e. Keras and tensorflow to train our
image dataset. That will then be used to predict the type of vehicles. For the license
plate part of the project, we plan on detecting the number plate and then using optical
character recognition to read the number plate.

Smart Helmet for Accident Detection and Reporting
This project is based on improving a conventional helmet using a micro-controller
and sensors. It will intimate emergency response teams and relatives in case of
an accident via mobile application. The primary goal is to perfect the detection
and reporting of accidents. Secondary goals include introducing an array of smart
features, while preserving cost constraints.

Iot Based Water Quality Monitoring and Prediction System
The WQM (Water Quality Monitoring) system aims to determine the quality of water
based upon pH value, turbidity and total dissolved solvents. A smart sensor interface
device in the Internet of Things (IoT) environment will be used for real-time data
acquisition, transmission and processing of the required water parameters. In addition
to that a prediction algorithm will be implemented to make the device intelligent.
The results will be displayed on a web portal / android app.

Tree Detection and Classification through Aerial Imagery using Deep
Neural Network and Pattern Recognition
(Abstract) Automatic detection and classification of trees using remotely sensed data
has been a dream of many scientists and land use managers. The motivation for this
problem comes from automated 3D City modelling, urban planning and forestation, in
which such data is used to generate the models. Representing the trees in these
models is problematic because the data is usually too sparsely sampled in tree regions
to create an accurate 3D model of the trees. Furthermore, including the tree data
points interferes with the polygonization step of the building roof top models.
Therefore, it is advantageous to detect and remove points that represent trees in both
LiDAR and aerial imagery.
Here, we propose an automatic approach to individual tree detection and classification
from aerial imagery using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), which is a rapidly evolving
cost effective and efficient technology. First a pixel-level classifier is trained to assign
a {tree, non-tree} label to each pixel in an aerial image. The pixel-level classification is
then refined by a partitioning algorithm to a clean image segmentation of tree and non-
tree regions. Based on the refined segmentation results, we adopt template matching
followed by greedy selection to locate individual tree crowns.
As training a pixel-level classifier requires manual generation of ground-truth tree
masks, we propose methods for automatic model and training data selection to
minimize the manual work and scale the algorithm to the entire globe. We test the
algorithm on thousands of production aerial images across different areas of a region
and demonstrate high-quality tree detection results as well as good scalability of the
proposed approach. In contrast, most of previously done work used expensive
hardware such as multispectral imagers for tree detection and classification. Thus, our
method has the potential to classify individual trees in a cost-effective manner. This
can be a usable tool for many forest researchers and managements.

COMET- Communicate & Explore Through It
The proposed project provides an infrastructure-less network that allows users to link
together in a dynamic way. The basic idea behind the project being proposed is to
design and develop RF front end hardware which will act as the device being used for
off-grid communication. Zigbee module will be programmed to operate on a frequency
using a specific modulation scheme (waveform)hence sending messages to other
zigbee modules which will be integrated within the device, the proposed device and
mobile phone will then be interfaced via Bluetooth. The mobile phone app will act as
a GUI to send and receive messages. The communication will take place between two
devices wirelessly i.e. through radio waves hence it will be independent of satellites,
Wi-Fi or any other network.

Localizaton of Radio Transmitter using Aerial Survillance
Specific frequency band is allotted to each user or organization for
transmission/reception of radio signals. If someone transmits a frequency without
license it would be illegal and is also a security risk. Additionally, it also impacts the
legal client of that spectrum if both are residing in same area. It is highly needed to
locate the geographical location of illegal transmission. It is non-trivial to reach exact
location of desired transmitter despite knowledge of the approximate operating area.
Currently, 3 x special vehicles are used to locate the transmitter by using triangulation
and approximation techniques. The project proposes to locate the transmitter using a
single drone. The project requires a detailed study of SDR, frequency analysis, power
measurement, geographical info system and optimization techniques.

Implementation of The Onion Routing (TOR) Network
Pakistan has no indigenous anonymous network. It needs its own private network
which can't be monitored by the outside world. The aim is to establish an indigenous
secure and anonymous network for Pakistan that makes use of Symmetric
Cryptography (AES), Asymmetric Cryptography (RSA), Diffie-Hellman key exchange,
Socket programming etc.

CARDI WEAR (Wearable ECG Device)
We set out to design and fabricate a low cost electrocardiogram (ECG) device which
can be easily used by someone with low technical expertise for round-the-clock ECG
self-monitoring and feedback. The project consists of the hardware and software for a
wireless (ECG) device, and a corresponding Android application, which displays and
records the user’s heart signal.

WHEGSTR: A Multi-Terrain Robot
All-terrain robots are supposed to handle a wider variety of terrain than ordinary robots.
Whatever type of terrain you prefer (tough terrain, steep slopes, sand, mud etc.), these
robots can provide maneuverability and stability on every point of the terrain. Many all-
terrain robots are quite versatile, but only a few of these could be removed from the
average and considered extreme robots.
We are designing a multi-terrain robot, WHEGSTR, a six-legged robot with inherently
high mobility. Powerful, independently controlled legs produce specialized gaits that
devour rough terrain with minimal operator input. WHEGSTR easily traverses terrain
approaching the complexity and diversity of the natural landscape. It climbs in rock
fields, mud, sand, vegetation, railroad tracks, slopes and stairways. It will be an
autonomous hexapod robot with complaint legs, which rotate full circle, thereby
preventing the common problem of toe stubbing in the protraction (swing) phase. With
its intrinsic mobility, WHEGSTR will have the ability to adapt according to the terrain
and will maintain its balance using algorithms based on differential equations. Due to
its rigid body and strong build, the robot can withstand impacts without compromising
performance. It will also transmit live broadcast of the surrounding area. Moreover, it
will give a continuous feedback about the physical conditions i.e. temperature,
pressure, humidity, etc. of the nearby area. This robot is going to be a breakthrough
in the industry of robotics due to its compact size, rigidness and ability to move across
different terrains. Also, it is going to be one of the successors to RHex invented by
Boston Dynamics.

Cyber Threat Detection Using Honeypot
If an intruder is able to acquire a weakness in the network by scanning the network,
he can easily penetrate into the system and obtain valuable data. Our Objective is to
implement a raspberry pi based Honeypot in a network that will attract attackers by
simulating vulnerabilities and poor security. Honeypot will record all the attacker’s
activities and after log analysis not only display the type of attack but also display the
other information attacker.

Tamper Resistant Database log update via Blockchain
Vehicle Ownership Transfer System (VOTS) is a system that keeps track of all the
registered vehicles. This system will be able to transfer a vehicle from buyer to seller
and it is validated by both persons’ fingerprint. It assures immutability and
transparency of data because of its underlying technology i.e. Blockchain. Any vehicle
not registered or present in its database will be treated as illegal vehicle and serious
action will be taken against the owner of vehicle. The initiative is meant to stop misuse
of vehicle registration and transfer, and facilitate vehicle owners and law enforcement
agencies to know the origin of every vehicle.

Design of External Voice and Data Encryption Module
Whenever there is a growth in technology, it comes with a cost of detriments.
Especially in the field of communication, when people interact with each other through
a wireless medium, an intruder may affect the privacy cum integrity of the system and
the users. This veracity of the system is ensured using different types of encryption
and ciphering techniques. The special radios, which communicate through voice
signals may or may not have encryption scheme, embedded in the system. Therefore,
to ensure the integrity of the systems used in the radios, ciphering techniques are
required. The encrypted signals are then sent over the voice channels. Consequently,
the speech signals should be in the form of voice i.e. should have the characteristics,
lying in the band of voice. However, the compression and encryption may result in a
signal, which does not fulfill this requirement. Therefore, to keep this signal in the band
of voice, concerned modulation techniques are used. This project is a real-time
implementation in which the intended voice is encoded with low bit rate speech
CODEC, encrypted and modulated onto speech-like waveforms before sending it over
the existing radio channel, without affecting the inner functionality and implementation
behavior of the channel. Data will obviously be decrypted at the receiving end. For
data bits, only the encryption algorithm is required, and the resulting bits will be sent
to the radio using UART RS-232 serial port. A scenario where the security is delegated
to the end users may preferably be there in many applications, such as military
applications in a context of strong communal competition.

VizGen
Paucity of water, depleting natural resources, health hazards in the outback of the
country are the main prompts which propel the idea of this project. VizGen aims at
providing adequate water for drinking purposes. Employing the principles of
compression, temperature differential and condensation, we aim to achieve our
objectives and provide impurity-free water. At this stage, we are developing a
prototype, which is expected to fulfil the envisaged goals and objectives. Employing
equipment such as gas compressor, condenser, sensitive sensors to ensure the
production of pure water, monitor temperature difference, measure humidity level of
the environment, water level, microcontroller to be interfaced with an Android and IOS
application allowing consumers to take full control of the whole unit, filters to purify
incoming surrounding air, we aim at constructing an efficient water generator.

Of being fully aware of the situation and disadvantages of public cloud, we are
developing our own private cloud where we will manage and store our data. We are
developing an application which is called file fox which will take the input data from
user, encrypts that data and then it will send it to cloud where this data will be managed
and stored.

Wi-Fi Smart Lock
A Smartphone has variety of uses and becomes one of the most important devices
nowadays. This proposal presents the prototype implementation of door locking
system using smart phone through Wireless Fidelity (Wi-Fi) technology. Programmed
using Android, the smart phone can lock and unlock the door usingWi-Fi. Since less
awareness concerns on door locking system, the device proposed in this project will
help to solve the problem. The user does not have to worry whether the door is locked
or not, because users can control it by using their smartphone through an app. The
project will be consisting of hardware and software development. Currently, a lot of
work is being done in the Home Automation Domain.

GPS, GSM and Wi-Fi Loop Type Ground Radiation Mobile Antenna
A loop type ground radiation antenna has been analysed using an equivalent circuit
model in this study. The proposed circuit model has been selected in such a way that
the design parameters of the ground radiation antenna can be mapped onto the circuit.
To demonstrate the accuracy of the model, a specific ground radiation antenna is
designed in a full wave electromagnetic simulator and the equivalent circuit model of
the antenna is optimized in a circuit simulator. Expressions of return loss and input
impedance of the equivalent model have also been obtained. The proposed circuit
model can be used to develop insight and describe the behaviour of the network
parameters of the antenna. Ever increasing development in mobile devices has
emphasized the importance of embedded electrically small antennas. Researchers of
these antennas seek to design compact and high-performance antennas for mobile
devices. The operation mechanism of the loop type GRadiAnt antenna is based on
abstract electromagnetic theory but the theory cannot be directly applied to a specific
design of a loop type GRadiAnt antenna. Therefore, the current design approach of
the antenna is based on the past experience of design engineers so to demonstrate
the accuracy of the proposed model, a typical loop type ground radiation antenna with
rectangular ground clearance is designed in HFSS at 2.45 GHz for Wi-Fi, and at
1.57GHz for GPS ,at 0.9 GHz for GPS

Compact 4x Elements Mimo Antenna for UWB
A compact four-element 8-shaped self-affine fractal UWB MIMO antenna is presented.
The self-affine fractal structure provides miniaturization and wideband characteristics
to the antenna. The 8-shaped self-affine fractal geometry is designed up to the second
iteration by iterated function system (IFS). This reduces the singleelement antenna
area by 24.88%. The dimension of proposed compact MIMO antenna is 44×44 mm2
and its impedance bandwidth ranges (S11 < -10 dB) from 3.1 GHz to 11 GHz. The
mutual coupling is lesser than -16 dB across the entire operating frequency band. The
correlation coefficient is less than 0.1 and diversity gain is more than 9.95 across the
operating frequency band. Results of this antenna indicate that it is suitable for UWB
application.

Two axis control system for an antenna (BSS) over a moving platform
This project aims at design and development of hardware and software for two axis
control system for a receiving antenna. The control system will be designed to point
an antenna towards a satellite from a moving/fixed ground based observer with
minimum error. This Control System will be tracking in real time and will maintain a
continuous connection with the satellite on moving platform. Tracking such a Satellite
would require the observer to have appropriate motorized platform, control electronics
and a receiving antenna.

Radio Fingerprinting
To research on the possibility of finger printing in radios. Multi radios of same make &
type can be distinguished by different parameters including frequency offsets, phase
delays, etc. The project will use a radio front end as a receiver and use machine
learning techniques to investigate the discriminating radio and signal features of multi
radios. These discriminating features will be used to identify or authenticate a radio at
physical layer.

Multiple Band Microstrip Patch Antenna For Satellite Communication
The project basically revolves around the concept of introducing staircase shape at
each edge of the patch of Microstrip Patch Antenna (MPA) which will operate in S-
band (2-4 GHz), C-band (4-8 GHz) and X-band (8-12 GHz).Depending on the
technological developments, the variety and quality of the antennas, small size and
better gain are becoming most popular specifications of antennas. The Rogers
RT/Duroid 5880 with relative permittivity 2.2 and height 1.6 mm will be used as
substrate material for design of the proposed antenna. Coaxial probe feed will be used
to feed the proposed antenna because this type of feed provides better impedance
matching to source by varying the feed position.
Microstrip Patch Antenna can be used in various wireless communication applications
such as satellite, Radar, missile and aircraft. MPAs are called low profile antenna
because these can be flush mounted on curved surface and they only require space
for the feed line . Microstrip antennas are popular at frequencies above 100 MHz .
Improper impedance matching and narrow bandwidth are two main disadvantages of
MPA’s. There are two techniques to enhance the bandwidth, one is by using thick
dielectric substrate and the second is by using slotted patch. The first technique is
limited because the thick substrate require increased length of the probe feed which
introduces large inductance and increase only a few percentage of bandwidth. The
second technique (slotted patch) increases the bandwidth more than the first method,
reduces the size of the patch and also shifts the fundamental resonant frequencies to
lower side. MPA consist of a thin metallic patch which is kept on dielectric substrate
and below the dielectric substrate there is a conducting ground plane. A microstrip
patch is generally of cooper placed on the top of the dielectric substrate. Ground plane

ADVANCED COMBAT MAN SYSTEM - ACMS
With the prevalence of global urbanization, the Pakistan Army will inevitably need to
engage in urban operations. The urban environment presents a whole new multi-
dimensional battlefield – one which not only requires changes to conventional combat
operations and tactics, but also a need to overcome the strategic advantage afforded
to an adversary that is concealed and entrenched in an urban environment. The
Advanced Combat Man System (ACMS) is an urban fighting system for the Third
Generation Army. It is designed to address the challenges faced in urban operations
by enhancing command and control (C2), situational awareness, survivability and
lethality of the soldier. With the ACMS, soldiers become part of a networked force.
Soldiers’ situational awareness is thus enhanced, allowing them to engage their
targets effectively. Soldiers are also able to navigate accurately through the urban
battlefield to avoid known danger areas.
Prior to the fielding of the ACMS, battlefield information was disseminated verbally.
This limited the speed and accuracy of engaging targets, with soldiers requiring a
longer time to interpret commands, identify targets and engage them. The ACMS, with
its graphical presentation of battlefield information, has enabled soldiers to share up-
to-date information in a precise and swift manner.
We know in an urban environment that it is very important for a commander to have
his own command post. ACMS capabilities are more advanced that on the dismounted
Full Fighting System, At the platform level we wanted a more sophisticated system.
We wanted a 3D version so we can create battlefield awareness in an urban
background where we can see the height in the whole system.
The proposed work of this project is to develop a system that can be supplemented
with real-time wireless command & control system which are designed and
implemented through microcontroller, GPS, IP networking and are able to record and
transmit orders, bio-signals, video between soldier and commander. This aim of this

modules. A remarkable innovation in this field is the design of Ultra-Wide Band
Microstrip Antennas . Microstrip Antennas has established its significance in wireless
data communication services, especially in association with UWB technology. Better
Results can be ensured by using proposed design. A lot of emphasis has been laid to

military purposes. It is supposed to monitor a number of aspects of driving that includes

A Dual Band Wearable Textile Based Antenna
This project introduces a textile based wearable antenna. Textile based antennas
include fabric as a substrate having many different wireless applications. A wearable
system can be implemented using textile-based substrates due to its various
properties including flexibility, camouflage hiding, prone to radiations and low profile.
The implemented antenna will operate on two different bands that will make it suitable
for various applications used in medical, security and on-body applications.
The work done will be able to make flexible and textile antennas that have taken a lot
of attention recently due to their application in wearable systems. Wearable antennas
need to be integrated within everyday clothing, be low profile, and be hidden as much
as possible. A micro-strip antenna with a textile material as a substrate is flexible, low
profile, lightweight and small size, therefore this type of antenna is more suitable for
design and fabricates to be worn or carried on one’s body. This gives us new ideas to
be explored for body area networks (BAN) and their implementations. It also features
a multiband design that can be used for various applications as of those bands.

Learned triangulation technique on the present system being used to catch any frequency
Practically caught a user, by using triangulation technique and then for pin pointing PR-100
was used, using illegal frequency
Learned about the satellites of Pakistan and the step by step procedure of launching a
satellite
Visited the Tarnol and Wani Stations and practically learned how the low frequency antennas
are catching signals from far-off areas and how satellite signals are being caught
