2nd Year National Diploma in Music Technology The Brief This process introduces you to the principles of working in the multi channel studio environment in preparation for hosting clients next term. You are required to demonstrate an understanding of how to operate studio equipment via practical and written submissions. During each Studio A session you will complete a ‘desk mix’ utilising desk eq, auxiliaries and outboard equipment. You will ‘bounce’ your mix at the end of the session. Using a ‘sampled sound’ project document as a template you will record additional instrumentation in project studio or studio 1 sessions (your finished recording must be of a minimum of 8 channels). You will undertake one mix per studio ‘A’ session (one mix per group member). You will compile a Studio ‘manual’ which should include diagrams, photos and video and be posted to your private Tumblr site. Your desk mix should be uploaded to our group Tumblr site and placed in your Dropbox folder. Your studio manual must include the following;

1. An explanation of the audio equipment specifications, types of connections, and cabling that can be found in the studio including; computer connectors, patch leads, and balanced vs unbalanced connectors. (Unit 2, GC2, GC4)
