Introduction The T24-HS handheld display provides one to one data display from any one of Mantracourt’s acquisition modules (strain, current, voltage). Input values are transmitted to the handheld via 2.4GHz radio allowing users to view a digital reading at distances of up to 120m (400 feet). The handheld display can ‘power off’ acquisition modules by a push of a button thereby ex-tending battery life and maintenance costs. If no buttons are pressed on the T24-HS it too will turn off after 5 minutes. The wide temperature operating range and the robust technology ensures that the module is not susceptible to harsh physical or electrical environments.

Introduction The T24-HA is an advanced handheld with the ability to display data display from up to 12 sen-sors/acquisition modules. It will display data from any of Mantracourt’s acquisition modules (strain, voltage or current). The T24-HA has an automatic 'off' function which can ‘power off’ acquisition modules to extend battery life and reduce maintenance costs. It will also power itself 'off' and acquisition modules as well if no buttons are pressed in a specified period of time. The wide temperature operating range and the robust technology ensures that the module is not susceptible to harsh physical or electrical environments. The module can operate in two modes: • Result Mode: This default mode creates a single result by summing the values from up
to 12 acquisition modules simultaneously as well as allowing users to view the discrete values that make up the result.
• Item Mode: In this mode each acquisition module is treated as a separate entity and
the T24-HA is used to cycle through all available items.

Introduction The T24-HR is a portable battery-powered roaming handheld which allows the viewing of an unlimited number of acquisition modules. By simply ‘roaming’ past the acquisitions modules, the handheld will wake each device and display the data tag of the remote acquisition module on the LCD display. With user-friendly T24 toolkit software, the data tags can be set to allow identification of each acquisition device allowing the viewing experience to be tailored to each particular application.

Introduction Forming the core of the T24 range, the T24-SA strain gauge acquisition module is a high per-formance PCB board designed to be embedded alongside load cells or other strain input sen-sors to provide wireless strain gauge measurement. Options also available for wireless current (4-20mA) and voltage (0-10V) acquisition (T24-IA & T24-VA). Miniature in size, the device transmits on licence free 2.4Ghz, avoiding local radio interference to ensure data integrity and security. Data is provided in real time at variable speeds with a direct line of sight range of 120m (400 feet) which can be extended with the use of antenna’s and passive repeaters. The devices transmit to a range of receivers including handheld indicators, digital displays, analogue and serial outputs, PC display, wireless printers and has various powering options. Antenna options are also available to extend range. Also 2KHz fast version for high speed ap-plications.

The external antennas come in two styles. The flat PCB antenna can be mounted inside a plastic housing or to the outside of a metal housing. The PCB requires 3mm clearance on all edges, this also applied to the RF window.
There must be no metal objects within 7mm of the antennas long edge and 20mm from the short edges.

Introduction
The T24 data acquisition modules are used to acquire data from a variety of different sensors including; strain gauge, current (0-20mA), voltage (0-10V), pulse, temperature and potentiome-ter. They are offered in a variety of IP rated enclosures suitable for use in most applications and environments. With a range of up to 400m (using a T24-AR Active Repeater) and all battery powered, the modules offer easy connectivity and exceptional battery life. The modules come with free Te-lemetry Toolkit Software which allows the user to configure and provide data logging for up to 24 devices.

Introduction The T24-AO1 and T24-AO1i provides a configurable analogue output for the range of T24 ac-quisition modules. The T24-AO1i is housed in an IP67 housing for industrial installation whilst the T24-AO1 is designed for desktop mounting with a reduced wireless range of 20m. The output can be selected from the pre-calibrated voltage and current ranges. 0-10Volts, ±10Volts, 0-5Volts, ±5Volts, 0-20mA and 4-20mA both of which can be used in a ‘sink’ or source mode. LED’s in the T24-AO1 provides indication of the state of the radio link, remote battery life and remote status. The T24-AO1i uses open collectors outputs to relay this information A digital input allows for zeroing of the incoming data value. The T24-AO1 modules are easily configured by the T24 Toolkit and a base station.

Introduction
The T24 radio telemetry range is currently supported by two base stations; the T24-BSu and the T24-BSi, which in conjunction with the T24-tool kit can be used to configure all the devices within the range. Devices can listen for and transmit data packages to any device therefore making control and group measurement very simple. T24-BSi The T24-Bsi is the industrial base station, housed in an IP65 standard enclosure. This device offers far more interface options for a user. The T24-BSi can be powered and controlled using a single USB interface; however the T24-BSi also has serial RS232 and RS485 interfaces at baud rates of 9600-460800. When using either of the serial interfaces the device must be pow-ered externally. The DLL serial interface provides the ability for customised user software to be created with the use of Visual Basic (VB) over any interface the user wishes to select. T24-BSu The T24-BSu is a simple USB device. It draws power from the USB bus and therefore no fur-ther components are required to configure and control remote devices from a PC. The T24-BSu is supported by not only the T24-toolkit but also with a DLL allowing customers using VB to develop their own custom software for their applications. T24-BSue The T24-BSue offers line of sight range of up to 200 metres for all T24 acquisition modules. Similar to the T24-BSu, it draws power from the USB bus and therefore no further components are required to configure and control remote devices from a PC. The T24-BSue is supported by not only the T24-toolkit but also with a DLL allowing customers using VB to develop their own custom software for their applications.

Case Study: Wireless Monitoring Application Mountain roads are treacherous places in the winter and operatives must patrol roads to en-sure that they are clear. Snow can be kept off the roads using snow fences that are held to the mountains using steel ropes. A highways company needed to monitor and calculate the weight of the snow behind the fence and ensure that any sudden release of strain is alerted to a con-trol room at the base of the mountain. The Solution: The weight of snow being held behind a snow-fence can be calculated by monitoring the strain on the ropes which are holding the fence in place. Using telemetry strain gauge acquisition modules (T24-ACM-SA) to measure the rope strain, data is transmitted to a road-side PC that is connected to the Internet.
The T24-SA-ACM's transmit the strain value every 30 seconds to a T24-BSue which provides a range of up to 200 metres (656 feet). The measurement data is logged by the PC to a CSV file which can be downloaded remotely from the computer. The software that processes and logs the data from the T24-ACM-SA is also able to email alerts in case of any sudden release of strain in any of the ropes which may indicate an avalanche or fence failure.

Introduction
The T24-RM1 offers power relays capable of mains power switching. These relays can be con-figured as high, low or window alarms to one or a sum of up to 8 T24 devices. Relays can be latched and a digital input or external command can be used to reset them. An alarm signal relay is operated if communications is lost or other selectable errors occur and this alarm output can be silenced by a contact free digital input. This module is supplied as standard in an IP65 sealed ABS case but a DIN rail option is available. The state of the power relays can be set as required if an error occurs.

Introduction The remote data acquisition system has been developed to utilise the existing GPRS network to enable remote monitoring for a wide number of applications using Mantracourt’s wireless T24 inputs. Using a quadruple band GPRS modem, the wireless data collector allows users to log and report data to multiple destinations including servers, email addresses and mobile phones, allowing for world wide access to data for recording and monitoring. The remote data collector can accept data from multiple inputs including: mV/V strain meas-urement, 4-20mA, 0-10V, temperature, pulse and potentiometer. All data is time and date stamped and sent to destinations at regular intervals. Measurements are also compared to user defined limits which can trigger alert messages al-lowing real time monitoring of an entire system. Note: The RDC is a Remote Data Collection device which communicates using GSM/GPRS and therefore is bound by the restrictions and limitations of a mobile data network.
