T Rose International Bridal Shows was

happy to present the Wedding of a

Lifetime contest this year.

At each of our bridal shows throughout

2013, couples had an opportunity to

register for a chance to become a

finalist and win a wedding at our Octo-

ber show in Baltimore.

Each finalist shared their story and a

winner was chosen. J.LeVar and

Nyoka Bryan were our winning couple

and enjoyed a wedding ceremony and

reception at our T Rose Bridal Show in

Baltimore.

The Story of Wedding of a Lifetime Winners J.LeVar and Nyoka Bryan J.LeVar had a crush on Nyoka that started in their 8th grade science class and lasted throughout their senior year of high school. Although friends, Nyoka made sure it never went beyond that despite J.LeVar’s efforts. Unaware to J.LeVar, Nyoka enlisted into the U.S. Army right after high school. The last time they would see each other would be in the summer of 2003 at a busi-ness event that J.LeVar invited her to. His goal was to recruit her into his business and maybe into a relationship be-yond the current friendship. He was unsuccessful in both scenarios. In a random run-in with Nyoka’s family the follow-ing year, they notified him she had recently been deployed to Iraq. He immediately felt he lost the opportunity to be with her. It’s January of 2006 and it’s been 3 years since J.LeVar’s last communication with Nyoka. A call at 11:30PM one night surprised him because it was Nyoka on the other line. This time it was

different. That June J.LeVar proposed on stage at a business event to Nyoka in Wash-ington, D.C. The following January, Nyoka and J.LeVar got married exactly a year from when they became a couple. Because Nyoka was being deployed to Afghanistan, they had to marry in a hurry so they never had a proper wedding reception and she never got to wear a wedding gown. Over the next six years, they would endure

many challenges including two miscarriages & their first home being foreclosed. Nyoka even spent 15 months away serving in Kuwait at the beginning of their second year of marriage. Through it all, they leaned on Christ to keep them together and now they will celebrate 7 years of marriage in January 2014. They have been blessed with two beautiful children Ny’Elle Tamara Bryan and J.LeVar Bryan II. This is only the begin-ning of their story.

Now this wonderful couple finally had the wedding they always dreamed of!
