The TRCHF Board has entered into an agreement with the Fort Worth Stockyards Preservation Foundation to have the TRCHF plaques displayed for 1 year in the Cowtown Coliseum, home of the world's first indoor rodeo. The plaques, contained in 27 lighted display cases, hold over 300 pictures and biographies of famous and not so famous Texas rodeo cowboys, cowgirls and others who helped shape the sport of rodeo from its inception. These are the acclaimed and unsung heroes that made rodeo the sport it is today…. literally the history of rodeo in Texas. The move of the cases will take place following display at the July 4 Belton Rodeo. Join in the Grand Opening celebration held Saturday July 24 in conjunction with the national "Day of the Cowboy". Check the new website for more information and make plans to attend (www.texasrodeocowboy.com). "This is the most exciting thing that the we have done in many many years", TRCHF President Don Howell said, "The exposure and support we will get in Fort Worth will be invaluable to build a solid foundation and insure that this Hall of Fame outlives us all." TRCHF Immediate Past President Tom Ray added, "It is all about the cowboys and cowgirls. How neat is it to know that your grandchildren and great-grand children can come to the Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District and read about you... back when you were wild and woolly." By having the TRCHF cases on display at a popular historic destination, Inductees will receive the recognition they deserve with over 2 million people visiting each year. The move follows a precedent set in 2009 when the display cases were transported to Denton for display during the North Texas PRCA rodeo. It is part of an ongoing effort to increase awareness of the Texas Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame and make the stories of TRCHF Inductees, their accomplishments in the arena and contributions to rodeo more widely visable. The Hall was founded in 1975 by Belton businessman and PRCA contestant Johnny Boren. WE HOPE TO SEE YOU IN FORT WORTH! NOMINATIONS FOR 2011 INDUCTEES DUE NOW. If you want to nominate a cowboy, cowgirl, clown, bullfighter, secretary, stock contractor or other rodeo personnel, go to the new website (www.texasrodeocowboy.com) and click on "Qualifications" for more details. Also, this year the Board has added a category for "Animal Athletes" with 2 categ ories…"Rough Stock" and "Timed Event". Nominations may only be submitted by TRCHF members and associate members and must be post marked No Later Than July 31. 36th ANNUAL RODEO REUNION and INDUCTION Plans are underway for the 36th ANNUAL RODEO REUNION and INDUCTION to be held April 8-9, 2011 in the Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District. 2010 INDUCTEES

The 2010 Rodeo Reunion was

a great celebration of the hon-

ored inductees and a wonder-

ful time to catch up with old

friends and even make a few

new ones. The event was

attended by over 1200 people

over the two day event.

. If you missed it, you missed a “GOOD ONE”.

Dear Membership:

BIG NEWS for the Texas Rodeo Cowboy Hall of

Fame, as I am sure some of you have heard that

the TRCHF 2011 Induction and Reunion will be

held in Fort Worth, Texas, and all of the Hall of

Fame cases will be on display in the Historic

Cowtown Coliseum. Watch the new website and

the next newsletter for more details.

The Texas Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame will

have a Grand Opening (if you will) on July 24th

at the Cowtown Coliseum. Everyone is invited to

attend and the event will coincide with the Na-

tional Day of the Cowboy Celebration going on at

the Historical Stockyards.

I hope all of you were able to attend the 2010

Induction and Reunion this past April. It truly

was a great success. Our largest crowd ever

was in attendance both Friday night and Satur-

day. A big thanks again to all of the people who

were able to attend and to all of those who

helped produce the Induction. Totally a team

effort!

Our Executive Secretary, Sherry Roberts tells

me we have several applications for Inductees for

2011 already in hand. If you, as a member, are going

to nominate someone, remember the cutoff date is

July 31.

The Board of Directors has implemented a new cate-

gory for Rodeo Animal Athletes, please use the same

form as for any Inductee nomination.

The TRCHF Board will select one Rough Stock ani-

mal and One Timed Event animal for 2011.

This has been a great year for the Texas Rodeo Cow-

boy Hall of Fame and I am sure as we grow larger in

membership and support, 2011 will be an even better

year.

God Bless Texas,

God Bless each and Everyone of you,

Don Howell
