Principal’s Message
Dear Parents and Carers
We had an amazing Book Week Parade last week. The children looked incredible and really got into the spirit of the theme. I had the unenviable task of choosing a winner for each class. This was very difficult but the children were very happy to receive a special book as a memento of the event. Thank you to Mrs Kynaston, Mrs Warren and Mrs McIntryre for all the work preceding the event and ensuring all ran smoothly on the day. Our teachers were very involved and without exception all dressed up and made the day even more exciting.
We have made a minor change to the collection of K-2 children from Dawson Street. Our Staff will now come with the K-2 children to the bottom of the stairs. It will make it easier for all to see that a parent or carer has collected their child/ren. We hope this helps to make collection simpler for everyone.
Please remember that parents are still asked to remain off the School grounds. If you have an appointment with a teacher, we ask you to sign in on arrival at the main Office. This is for contact tracing and is a requirement of the Government. If your child has left an item at home please call the Office first and we will get it to them. If it is not vital it can wait until the following day. Sometimes it’s good for children to face the consequences of forgetting an item and they learn a lesson from it!. If you are working in the Canteen or Uniform Shop you are asked to drop your child at the gate and then go straight to your area. Please do not access the classrooms when you are onsite.
Congratulations to our Book Week Winners 3-6
Thomas Lin 3R, Emily Brown 3L, Vincent Babik 3M, Caitlyn Norton, Jude Sunderland 4H, Skye Wilson 4N, Juliette Johnson 5R, Adelaide Butler 5S, Sophie Barker 6D, Maddie Golobek 6A, Danilo Simonovic 6P.
Our K-2 Winners;
Danny Bentley KR, Zac Griffiths KB, Lulu Lee-Rynas KO, Anna Davis KY, Alex Campbell KG/1N, Fleur Gillam 1T, Edward Shaddick 1B, Jonah Grove 1M, Rosie Bayl 2R, Carter Powell 2K, Gemma Selby 2V, Emily Makin 2M
Kindergarten had a lovely day yesterday dressing up as farmers and receiving their chicks which they are so excited to look after in the coming weeks.
I am at an Annual Conference today and tomorrow I will be back onsite on Thursday.
We have a booking for an Anti-Bullying Performance next week. Notes have been sent home for your information and action.
This Friday we celebrate World Teachers’ Day. This is a time to celebrate all the great things that teachers do to support your children and your families. The P&C are providing a lovely morning tea for all our teachers next week. This year more than any other I want to thank my teachers for all they have done and continue to do despite the difficult situation we are all in.
Have a great week.

BAND CAMP 2021
Please save the date - Friday 5th March through Sunday 7th March.
The band committee is working as hard as possible to ensure a Band Camp for 2021 will take
place. We are looking for volunteers to help with planning for Band Camp 2021 in a variety of
different capacities. Our first meeting will be Thursday 19th November in the evening.
Please reach out to any of the committee members for more details on how you can help.
Band Camp is one of the highlights of the band calendar, and we need YOU to help make it
happen.
REMINDER – Please obtain your Working with Children Check: All parents who will be staying
overnight at Band Camp are legally required to have a valid WWCC. The Band Committee
strongly recommends that ALL band parents obtain their WWCC Certificate, which is FREE as
a volunteer. You may already find that sporting clubs and other organisations that you
volunteer with require parents to have this important child protection check.
Obtaining your WWCC is a simple online application, and you will receive your Certificate once
you have verified your identity in person at a Service NSW office. For the online WWCC
Application, go to: https://wwccheck.ccyp.nsw.gov.au/Applicants/Application
BAND COMMITTEE 2021 AND FINAL TERM 4 MEETING

Thursday 3rd November, at 7pm. Please come along to hear more about the Band program, all
are welcome. If you are willing to participate in the Committee in future years, to ensure that
TPS’s excellent Band Program continues, please join us!
CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS
Our school’s band program currently relies on volunteer parents rather than paying an
(expensive!) external operator. Mr Rowland is a fantastic Band Master but needs a parent
committee to keep our amazing band program operating. Please consider taking on a small
